Heat to seek Exception

Due to the potential season ending injury to F Josh McRoberts, the Miami Heat will apply for the Disabled Players Exception to find a replacement. If granted the Heat would receive $2.65 million which equates to half of McRoberts salary this season. Such a $2.65 million amount can only be used in a trade for a player in the final year of his contract or in a one-year offer to a free agent. The salary-cap exception, if granted, would have to be used by March 10.
