Soon to be free agent G Devin Harris recently indicated the type of deal that he may seek this off-season. Before agreeing to a 1 year veteran's minimum deal last season with the Dallas Mavericks, Harris had agreed to a 3 year deal valued at $9 million to return to the franchise. Due to a foot issue which required surgery, Harris agreed to the modified deal. Friday Harris was asked if a 3 year deal would allow him to remain with the franchise and he stated the following:
“Three years, yes,” Harris said. “Somewhere in that area. The years sound good. It would be a good starting point.....Last year was a bit of a worrisome period......This time, I just wanted to get away from it. I haven’t thought about it a whole lot.”
On his chances of staying with Dallas:
“Pretty good. This is where I want to be, so, we’ll see. As long as things make sense.”
