The Celtics are currently 12th in the Eastern Conference and are in rebuilding mode. At times when a team is rebuilding and is full of expiring contracts, players tend to play in a selfish manner due to knowing that they will not remain with the franchise. Earlier today Rajon Rondo stated the obvious as he addressed the situation of those players with expiring contracts.
“For the most part guys are playing for contracts. It’s not a matter of being here. It’s a matter of staying in the league.”
