After having missed most of the last 18 months, Indiana Pacers F Danny Granger received a standing ovation from the Indiana fans when he checked into last evening's game against the Houston Rockets. After the contest, Granger spoke about the experience.
"It felt good," said Granger, who played in just five games last season because of a knee injury. "When you haven't played in a long time, you want to do something defensively to get into the flow of the game. The crowd went crazy. It was exciting. And we got the win by 33 points (Granger's uniform number). Kind of ironic."
"It was awesome," he said. "Couple of standing ovations when I was out there. Just to play in front of the home crowd again was kind of a breath of fresh air. … Just got to keep building up my legs and my wind....My shot felt good....Every one was a little short, but that's kind of indicative of where my legs are at. But they looked and felt good. I was happy to get one to get in and build on it for the next game."
