The status of Dwyane Wade (knees) has been up in the air and many are wondering if he'll be ready in time for the Miami Heat's opening night matchup against the Chicago Bulls.  Despite practicing, Wade didn't play in the Heat's first preseason game last evening against the Atlanta Hawks.  Earlier Tuesday Wade spoke of his current status.

“Obviously, you want to play in some games, get that rhythm, play with your teammates,” Wade said. “But we've got seven of them (preseason games) left, so there's plenty of time. Right now, for me, (it’s important) to get more comfortable in here in practice, get more conditioning in here and it will take care of (itself) out on the court.”

“I'm not where I want to be, but I'm better at this point this season than I was last year,” Wade said, referring to the 2012 offseason when he underwent left knee surgery. “I'm not ready for Game 1 (against Chicago). I'll work my way to get there, and we'll see how it goes game by game.”
