World Peace talks Knicks, Lakers lack of chemistry

One of the biggest moves of the off-season saw Metta World Peace join the New York Knicks. Recently World Peace spoke of fitting in with the Knicks and the Los Angeles Lakers lack of chemistry last season.
“I’m going to fight for the city....It’s easy when playing on a team to do exactly what the coach asks of you and do what it takes to win"
On the Lakers struggles:
“It wasn’t fun,’’ World Peace said. “There was no chemistry. [Deceased Lakers owner] Dr. Buss was a chemist. All his molecules had great formulas. This one didn’t match up. So we kind of had no chemistry. There was no chemistry as an organization.....I thought we were going to win a championship. I was ready for my vacation after ring No. 2 in Turks and Caicos.’’
Holy shit. I never thought metta would be the first on the lakers team to addresss who the real fuck up is. And thats jim buss.
ReplyDeleteThey should have went with phil. There's never chemistry with d'antoni.
ReplyDelete4 now lakers just want now summer 2014 to complete rebuild.
ReplyDeleteI am a long time Laker fan and I would have to agree. Jim isn't starting off so hot. He missed a big opportunity when he passed on a PROVEN Phill Jackson and Tex Winter Triangle system. I truly believe he allowed his ego to get in the way in trying to show he is now in charge.
ReplyDeleteVery unlaker like, that is not what we've come to know and love about our Lakers organization.
in 2014 Stern will finally leave NBA interesting who will be now doin rig key games.
ReplyDeleteI think there has been an unfair blame on certain players and the coach. It wasn't D'antoni fault he got the head coaching job. He's a head coach who didn't have a job, in this economy you can't blame anyone for taking a job and some of the players knowing D'antoni's track record vs Phills were disappointed in that decision and probably gave way for some doubt in the ownerships (Jim Buss) abilities to make big championship moves and set the ego aside. I think ultimately the blame falls on Jim Buss.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't exactly call Artest to NYK "one of the biggest offseason moves". Just saying. As you were...
