Ric Bucher is reporting that Dwight Howard had two conditions that had to be met in order for him to remain with the Los Angeles Lakers and those were the firing of Mike D'Antoni and the release of Kobe Bryant via the then un-used amnesty clause.  The Lakers reportedly asked Howard to be patient on both fronts.

"Dwight didn't want to play with Kobe for 2-3 more years," Jim Buss said. "I'm going to stand behind Kobe because of his history with the franchise."
