Jim Buss confirms Howard not wanting to play with Kobe

Ric Bucher is reporting that Dwight Howard had two conditions that had to be met in order for him to remain with the Los Angeles Lakers and those were the firing of Mike D'Antoni and the release of Kobe Bryant via the then un-used amnesty clause. The Lakers reportedly asked Howard to be patient on both fronts.
"Dwight didn't want to play with Kobe for 2-3 more years," Jim Buss said. "I'm going to stand behind Kobe because of his history with the franchise."

Howard tryed getting another coach fired. Get your head outta your ass and just play ball.
ReplyDeleteHoward knew that Mike D is the wrong guy for the job and the only coach that can keep kobe in his place is the zen master Mike D style of coaching doesn't fit the team and he's too stubborn to change it LA will never win anything with him coaching and also nobody wants to play with kobe selfish ass thats why they wont get any key free agents next season watch
DeleteOK we won get any key free agents because Kobe is still a superstar in the game an all we need is good role players..I agree the Zen would put Kobe in his place tho..
DeleteYou are wrong about him refusing to adjust. The saddest part is he did try. The lakers offence dantoni used was not the same offensive system he used in pheonix. He just didnt know how to use his rosters talents. Hes just a bad coach.
DeleteI admit Laker fans didn't give him the credit he deserved for playing thru the back injury, teammates didn't give him the support , and d'antoni didn't get him the ball nearly enough but if Dwight wants to b the number 1 guy he shouldve of just stayed his ass n Orlando. Cause its gonna b the samething n Houston...just defend and rebound and stop crying nigga!!
ReplyDeleteAs for my Lakers we got players to fit d'antoni system this year. remember d'antoni n Phoenix? His teams were always fun to watch and players love to play n that system that's why the majority of NBA teams run it these days n sum form or another. And knick fans can say he quit on the Knicks but I could argue Knicks were n better place with d'antoni until they traded all his players for melo.
Can't argue with any of those points except the one about houston....houston is nothing like orlando orlando didn't anyone of hardens caliber and parsons is very good young player
ReplyDeleteHarden is still gonna b the man n Houston
DeleteBut harden isn't selfish like kobe which is the point I was trying to make...D 12 will get plenty of touches
DeleteOrlando had hedo and vince as the other 2 options. Houston has harden and parsons. Not only is that uncomparable now but for the future as well.
DeleteMy point was he couldn't handle being the 2nd option n LA, he's gonna b 2nd option n Houston as well. N Orlando d12 was the man. And he may get more touches but harden will jack that shit up too. Think he avg over 20 attempts a game his damn self along with all that over dribbling. Not unless McHale and the dream can turn d12 into a offensive force its gonna b the something ...nigga go rebound and play defense and shut up like Kobe told him
Delete*samething
Deletekobe selfish? kobe avg more points then harden plus more assists. kobe avg more assists then melo durant harden wade and had highest assist avg for a sg last year. and 17 yrs of lakers hes led them in assists in a season almost 10 yrs
Delete^^^Thats a dumb way to make your point kobe averages more assists than durant and harden because they've only been in the league like 5 years compared to kobes 17 years....ill give you the melo one because he's a ballhog too...bynum, shaq, even phil said it himself in his book that kobe is selfish at times and trys to force the action alot of kobes teammates have called him selfish so it must be true
DeleteIts a fact tho...Kobe avg more assist than any other SG n the league last year. I get wat u sayin tho but n the end its on d12
DeleteDumb ass watch games n not just stats. When season starts you'll see.
Deletewhy the fuck does it matter if kobes been in the league 17 years vs hardens 5? dumbest shitt i heard
DeleteYea i hey what y'all are saying. All I'm saying is how Kobe going to rape a bitch in the ass lol
ReplyDeleteY are you breathing anonymous fag..... kill yoself!
DeleteMr Versitile
Kill yourself with that fag name! " Mr. Versitile " that's the gayest fucking name I've ever heard.
DeleteLet him continue to b lame wit that silly shit. He Must want Kobe to rape his ass he keep saying that shit.
DeleteYou can easily say that EVERY superstar on EVERY team is selfish. They are your scorers and game changers. Now, that doesn't mean they make great decisions when they go 2-11 and still want to shoot the rock. I just think its unfair to single out Kobe. Time and time again I've watched pierce, LBJ, Wade, durant, melo etc. Etc. Etc, being selfish as shit; all great players do it. ..
DeleteYes every superstar gets selfish at times especially when they get hot but kobe has a reputation for being selfish he jacks up shots even when he's off....phil also said this in his book....he said jordan was better than kobe because even jordan was having an off night he would do other things to make an impact on the game
Delete*even when
DeleteDwightmare all over again. Dwight ain't man enough to play with Kobe.
ReplyDeleteMan enough to play with kobe!? Its not even about being man enough....just shut up your stupid
DeleteIt's already been said. At first he didn't want to tough it out, then he did. He was 2nd option and complained the whole time. They should have made him a bigger piece of their offense but they didnt. Now he's in Houston where the same thing is going to happen. If you can't handle it, you just don't run. You're stupid
DeleteBy saying the same thing is going to happen your basically saying that the rockets will barely make the playoffs and get swept in the first round just like the lakers did right...the rockets will be at least a 5 seed and i doubt they get swept especially since they gained some experience from last year....your dumb as hell you really should shut up for real
DeleteYou're assuming thats what I meant. Rockets will do much better than Lakers did last year. With D12 playing 2nd fiddle he still won't be happy is what im saying. Kobe is a killer in the locker room and practice and on the court. He's an asshole and a pusher. Most of the greats are/were this way. He couldn't handle it. He's gotta have a diff. attitude in H Town or its gonna be the same circus all over again. Calm down dude. Miami 3peat anyway.
DeleteIll agree with that....the heat probably are 3peating
DeleteThis is just Jim Buss trying to take some heat off his ass cause he sittin in a hot seat right now. He's hearing the criticism thats that's been going around about him. This is in part, an attempt to deflect.
ReplyDeleteAfter situations like Shaq vs Kobe, Jordan vs Steve Kerr...(j/k :) ) the Zen master knows how to bring balnce and order to chaos. He's been through it, has experience. He's able demand a level of attention and respect unlike anyone else because of it.
D'Antoni can't.
^^^exactly!!!
DeleteJIM BUSS, scaring all players to negotiate w the Lakers. SMH
