In a phone interview with ESPNLosAngeles, Dwight Howard spoke about how winning a championship is priority after agreeing to join the Houston Rockets.
"That's the priority," Howard said. "That's the priority. S---, I'm betting $30 million on it. That's the priority. That's what I want....My résumé, I've accomplished almost everything that you can accomplish in the NBA but winning a championship and getting MVP, and I've come close to both of them. So, you know, that's my goal right there. That's the reason why I play. I have fun, but that's my goal. ... I might have fun, I might joke a lot, but I'm serious about winning a championship."
"I just looked at both teams and I felt like Houston was going in one direction -- they got a lot of young players, they got a good coach in Kevin McHale, and I just felt like having him as a coach, he could really help me in the post and help me develop like I want to," Howard said. "That was mainly the big reason right there, and having the opportunity to grow with a team, a young team, like the Rockets. That's the reason why.....I just think it's all about timing and fit when you're talking about basketball......You can put anybody together on the court and expect them to win, but the pieces have to really fit in order for a team to be successful."
Wheres that guy on this app who kept sayin kobe and d12 best duo ever??? and lakers all day every day?
ReplyDeleteYour talking about PreachNBA. Yup he's been quiet ever since D12 went into free agency. He doesn't know NBA just likes to insult people and run his mouth

Good fit for him, everybody knew he wasn't a Laker. Sucks for LA but also good for whoever's coming in next to carry the team
ReplyDeleteMan this nigga trippin. They still not better than the clipps or spurs. Definitely not the heat. i would never build my team around howard. Kobe gon cum bak wit a vengence next season and score 50 everytime they play the rockets. Howard must be crazy thinkin they goin to the finals
ReplyDeleteForgot the thunder
ReplyDeleteD12 can't live the hype of Shaq.. So of course he wanted to leave and start a legacy somewhere else. Not saying that D12 is better than Shaw so don't get me wrong.
ReplyDeleteHe will never live up to Hakeem in Houston! Hakeem got a ring for Houston and is considered one of the best bigs ever!
DeleteYa but hakeem will workout with him in houston. Dwight would rather lose his legs before he asks shaq for help.
