Celtics/Clippers trade discussions......Updated

A day after media outlets reports that talks between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers had stalled, the two franchises are still engaged in discussions about a Rivers/Garnett deal and hope remains that an agreement can be reached. NBA coaches can't be included in trade scenarios but with Rivers still under contract with the Celtics, they can ask for compensation from the Clippers for his services.
Update: Trade talks between the two franchise are reportedly entering its final stages and sources suggest that the a trade may be finalized at some point today.

I undetstand Ainge wants compensation, but he needs to be realistic if this is the path he wants to walk. I think DJ and 2 picks would be adequate compensation. I'm a die hard C's fan and love having KG/Doc, but also know we need to get younger. If we get DJ, then we can focus the 16th pick on a PG and use (if we get it) the pick/s to get a SF and another C.

As I die hard fan, I agree. I think we need to do everything possible to keep PP even if its a limited role (which I don't think he needs). I do think we need to part ways with JT and possibly use Lee as a trade chip and focus on developing crawford. I really dont think Avery is our answer at the 2. We need a 2 who can consitantly score and JUST defensive minded. Regardless, it would be nice to here from the front office instead of the rumor mill on what is ACTUALLY going on..
DeleteI agree but we could always start fresh but it wouldn't be right to part ways with kg, doc and pp I would get ready for a blockbuster trade from boston before the season starts
ReplyDeleteThe biggest issue I see, is scoring. Getting rid of KG and PP gives us Green to be our scorer. His game is getting better, but we don't have any nightly scorers without KG and PP. Next in line would be Bass but he isn't gonna start. We will def rebound with DJ and Sully but you can't win games on that alone. I think we need to move Bradley in return for a scorer with Lee or Crawford coming off the bench. No matter how you look at it, next season is going to be rough unless Ainge pulls off a miracle deal or keeps the vets for limited time.
