Another Celtics/Clippers trade update

Due to league concerns about the previous framework of a deal between the Celtics and Clippers that would have sent F/C Kevin Garnett to the Clippers, the two franchises are currently in the process of restructuring the deal. The NBA's concern resides in the fact that Doc Rivers name has been floated as a possible replacement for Vinny Del Negro in Clipper land as NBA rules do not allow coaches to be traded or have side deal contingencies.
David Stern on proposed Clips-Celtics deal: "What the rules won’t allow, it can’t be gotten around by breaking it up into two transactions."

I don't see what the issue is. They are 2 separate transactions that fall within league rules. And, Boston is still getting the short end and willing to make the deal...
ReplyDeleteIt's against the rules to trade coaches. And yes, we were getting shafted. I think Deandre has potential, but an old Garnett is still better than that potential.
DeleteWe got a better chance of winning the lottery than trying to figure out what the hell ainge is doing or trying to accomplish.
DeleteSpurs are going to beat Miami's ass.
ReplyDeleteMiami already thinks they've won. Spurs are pissed off.
ReplyDeleteLebron better not miss 15 shots this game like he did last game.
