I really can't argue with this one...I thought Mark Jackson would win but George Karl didnt have an allstar player on his team which probably why he won
mark jackson changed the culture n g.s. they actually play defense now. went from bottom feeders to the 6th best team n the best conference. and like tibbs he dealt with injuries all year from bogut and gettin sum good ball outa young low draft picks green and ezeli
and? iggy was a Olympian and denver had the better record which means they still got sum pretty good players, so wats ur point? and just heard thats karls first n his 25 years so ima say sympathy was the difference here.
I don't agree with this at all. Mike woodson shudve Won. Out of the coaches that are ahead of him knicks had the biggest turn around. On top of all the pressure of coaching in ny in his first full year. Not taking anything away from spoes or carl but wood had more pressure on him then both of them combine. N to get them where they are despite everyone saying their too old shoot too many 3's don't play d is amazing. What he's done to Better his individual players is amazing.
At the beginning of the season, no one thought the Nuggets would be a top seed. No one even mentioned the Nuggets at all except talking about the Melo trade and how it affected Amare. They exceeded expectations more than any other team. Warriors 2nd and the Bulls disqualified bc Thib already won. You don't see back to back COY.
i heard plenty people mention the nuggets after they got iggy and saying they had a chance to challenge for homecourt. hell people was saying they were better than the lakers....i know. and i understand where yak comin from but still the knicks have plenty of talent. only people sayin that shit u talkin bout was knick haters and people who dont know shit about ball
Thibs and Jack are my picks for regular season and postseason. I don't count Karl and Woodson because they both had the talent on their teams, just needed a decent coach. My picks used what they had and are still competing deep into the playoffs.
Gregg Popovich is the greatest coach of all time in my opinion nobody gets respect from their players like he does. He can turn a 2nd round draft pick into a perennial allstar. Nobody utilizes talent as effectively either.
hollins doesnt get enough love. he's a little slow finding rotations that work and he's not much of a motivator but nobody is better at making adjustments midgame. just look at memphis's 3rd quarter differential
Wow PJ on the list and then they fired the dude after round one was over smh

Coach of the year is based on regular season not post season

DeleteGolden state had an allstar in david lee and steph curry who shouldve been an allstar the nuggets had no allstars that's the difference

DeleteI just saw that denver's 57 wins was a franchise record so that's probably why too....I wouldve picked MJ or Tom but I can't argue with Karl
