NBA Q&A: Kevin Durant

Q: How into baseball are you? 

A: Every chance I get to watch it, I try to. It’s tough during the season. After July I watch. I’m a big Nationals fan, but I’m also a fan of the Giants as well.

Did you ever play baseball? 

A little bit in high school, but I stuck with basketball,

You might be pretty good in the outfield, bringing (home runs) back.

Yeah that’d probably be my specialty. But I’ll stick to playing basketball.

What position did you play in high school?

I was a 6-9 first baseman my junior year. It was a tough adjustment for me, but I had fun.

Could you hit the curveball?

I couldn’t hit any ball. I got a few guys out, though, so I guess I did a little something.

Any baseball players you’re close to?

I don’t know too many guys personally, but just watching the game, I’ve seen these guys win the World Series. That road they took, you can take some things from them and put into our game — how they fought after being down, and how they came together as a team. They’ve been at a championship level for awhile now.
