Kobe Bryant talks Shaq

Kobe Bryant recently spoke to Yahoo!Sports about the respect that he has for Shaquille O'Neal and how the two were destined to break apart.
"I always remind him every time I see him.....I saw him after the All-Star Game and said, 'How you doing, 'Four' ?' He said, 'Oh, you [expletive].' [Our relationship is] really good now. We have such a mutual respect for each other."
On the split between the two in which Bryant threatened to sign with the Clippers if the Lakers had retained Shaq.
"It was inevitable," Bryant said. "You can't expect Michael [Jordan] to play with Wilt [Chamberlain] for his entire career. That's just not going to work. I had too much talent and too much to showcase. And then there was a challenge issued by him about me not being able to win without him. That's a challenge I couldn't pass.....But ultimately during those years I sacrificed a lot, numbers-wise, to play with him. The thing that always bothered me was people said, 'Well, Kobe's selfish.' I'm not selfish. If I was selfish, I would have left. I gave up a lot to play with him."
"Personalities and playing for each other weren't the best of dynamics because he always wanted to do things a certain way and I was always on him about his work ethic," Bryant said. "He didn't want to hear that, but I didn't care....it was tough for that relationship to work forever. But there was a mutual respect, and that's why you see us engaging with each other and conversing with each other because we knew what that was about."

What the fuck ever Kobe. U selfish as fuck u couldn't stand the fact that man was better than u @ that time. U wanted the fame all the shots & all the glory I really hate this fag. I thought the lakers was dumb as fuck for choosing Kobe over Shaq but I was wrong on that one. He still one of the best I have ever seen but fuck Kobe wit a sick dick.
ReplyDeleteDamn u a hater!! When have u heat fans ever heard that much hate outa preach? See how sour these heat fans r when we aint talkin about the heat?
DeleteI dont even see wat the problem is with wat he said? Thats real shit. They dominated, they got tired and both moved on with points to prove. Im sure they wouldve did things differently lookin back at it now, but thats life u learn and u keep it fuckin movin. Both of those dudes r ego maniacs and dickheads who love a challenge, others like to take the easy way out.....like lbj
DeleteDo u hear yo self when u talk? Talking about u have never said hate like that b4. U contradict ur self ever time u talk. U said that shit & in the very next sentence u said some hate shit about the heat. SMDH
DeleteLame niggas cant handle the thruth so they just call it hate? Ok i get it
DeleteSo Kobe threaten to sign with the Clips(leave) if the Lakers kept Shaq. Then he says I'm not selfish. If I was, I would have left. Guess he's selfish by his own definition. Those 2 could have ran the NBA for a decade. They cheated each other out of championships.
ReplyDeleteyup:) couldnt agree more... and as soon as they ttades shaq there were horrible untill kobe threaten to leave again and they got pau gasol in his prime for him
DeleteKobe just admitted that he cares more about his stats than winning.
ReplyDeletehe won with shaq and without him....wats ur point?
DeleteBut he hasn't won without phil so what's your point?
DeletePhil aint shooting no jumpers, grabbin no boards
Deletekobe has a losing record withput phil
DeleteThe real MHP need to tone it down, making heat fans look like a-holes. watch your language bro, it's unnecessary. look, Kobe is obviously great. this however does show what he has always cared about, personal accomplishments. basketball is a team game and that's why he has to be judged accordingly when it comes to his place in history (Magic, D-Wade, LeBron, Russel, Bird were all superstars who made others better. appart from maybe Larry, everybody loved playing with those guys)
ReplyDeletewell said
DeleteI make heat fans look a-holes because what? I dont speak for everybody that's my opinion. Watch yo mouth bro. Lame ass.
Deletelol at kobe sayong hes not selfish bc he played with shaq......he tild the lakers its me or shaq, he forced shaq out so he could be the top dog. sounds selfish to me???
ReplyDeletekobe=all time leader in missed shots
Preach let them talk man, but on the real Kobe is one of the greatest players to play. In life you have to sometimes take risks to be successful. Hands down Kobe has come so far with his basketball career and people still hating? Wow that's just sad man. Calling Kobe selfish? At least he didn't he leave his hometown to suck on wades dick and has to flop to win a championship. Kobe or Lebron? Yeahh we all know who's better in career wise. Lebron will never reach Kobe's stats point simple.
ReplyDeleteThat comment is pure stupidity^^^
DeleteLebron is always the scapegoat for anything bad about Kobe on this app. Who in the Hell wants to keep losing? Kobe threatens to leave twice and gets what he needs to win. Lebron got Mo Wiliiams and then Antwan Jaimson. CP3 left, Melo left, Howard left...superstars want to win and in this league you gotta team up or get singled out. OKC is diamond in the mud. Everybody else has to get dirty.
DeleteI think its more because at the time it was very debatable who was the better player wade or lb. Lb went to wades city, he going to get killed for that alone. As far as on this app? Come on man its kobe vs. lbj 24/7 lol u know wat it is, but i feel where u comin from.
DeleteYou have be selfish(PASSION) inorder to accomplish what he wants(HAS) achieved
ReplyDeleteHe wouldn't the Kobe today if things hadn't pan out the way they did....
There b no 81 point no signal handle beat mavs in 3q no Boston magic suns series...countless amounts of late game shots......I can go on for days....lol I love him or hate him just pay respect:)
Great career shaq well deserve...wont b another big like him
