He was drafted to be the eventual replacement for Tayshuan Prince but he found himself along with Price traded from the Pistons to the Grizzlies.  Forward Austin Daye didn't receive much playing time during his last two years with the Pistons but he has been a contributor with the Grizzlies.  Since the trade he's averaged 6.5 points and 2.0 rebounds in 13.3 minutes and yesterday he spoke of his experience with the Grizzlies thus far.

"It's great, man," Daye said. "I hope to cut my summer short. Hopefully the summers will be shorter and shorter as we play along. I am happy about that. Before, we were always on the outside looking in when I was with the Pistons. Now I am analyzing every game and checking out games.....I am really happy with the situation here....I am with a great group of guys. Coach (Lionel Hollins) has given me a lot of freedom and it has helped with my confidence....I am looking at each game where I can improve and am looking forward to that."
