Van Gundy Blasts Howard

While speaking on the radio recently, NBA analyst Jeff Van Gundy recently spoke of the Lakers struggles and more specifically Dwight Howard.
"When you lose games and you're going around after the game with a stat sheet in your hand and you're saying, 'Look at the stat sheet' to reporters and to your teammates -- you know what it is? It's passive-aggressive, immature stuff," said Van Gundy. "It's sad. This guy has so much to offer that is good for the game, to the game and to the Lakers. They're paying him huge money and they gave up a lot to get him."
"Unfortunately right now his attitude towards the game is impacting his production on the court and the Lakers are not getting his very best," said Van Gundy. "At his very best he'd still be a dominant defender, rebounder and 18 point-per-game scorer. He doesn't like his role. You can see from his comments, from his play, he has very high role-frustration right now."
"He has rudimentary offensive skills," said Van Gundy. "He's not a good ball handler. He doesn't have a really well-defensive low-post game - a poor free-throw shooter. But he can have a huge impact on the game defensively - rebounding, screening, rolling, the occasional post move because he's so athletic - but he doesn't want to do it that way."

Buss please suck up ya pride and trade dwights ass!
ReplyDeleteJust heard kobe asked him yesterday if he liked playing with him and dwight couldnt even give a response. That is sum passive aggressive shit, u dont get ya issues worked out by acting like that
DeleteI can just imagine howard sitting with his arms crossed sulking to big of a baby to say something when kobe asks him...i heard dwight was talking shit about kobe on the bench, and mwp called kobe over so dwight cud say it to his, and howard was too scared. This guy is ajoke. Lakera are a joke. I never liked kobe much but o do feel bad for him no doubt
DeleteDamn son never thought I wud hear u say that. I understand tho I was one of those cats who thought it was a great trade. But d12 is acting worse then bynum n hes not playing hard. A lot of this is kobes fault. I know he was playing lights out early now hes not. Hes gotta do a better job of incorporating is teammates.
ReplyDeleteYea he tried that the last couple of weeks lately and the chemistry just aint there. And it takes kobe out of his offensive rhythm. Im not saying kobe is without blame, hell they 17-25 they all need to b blamed but if u wanna talk about incorporating teammates wasnt that suppose to b nash's job? obviously Nash cant create on the pick and roll no more like he use too and antoni has came up with shit to get the ball n the bigs hands. And have u seen dwight tryin to post up lately? Dude lookin like straight trash on the block. Lakers just need to cut they losses and trade d12 and nash right now cause this shit just aint workin out.
DeleteFirst of all they never should have fired Brown,Kobe is so fuckin selfish & blames ever thang on the coach & his teammates. D12 is acting like a spoiled kid & Kobe talking shit to him ain't going to help. In other words they are done fried okra done.
ReplyDeleteI said that shit wasnt gone work before the season started kobe dominates the ball too much and blames everybody but himself kobe doesnt trust his teammates and his teammates dont trust that hes gonna pass them the ball. Yeah nash is supposed to be the creator but he cant create with gasol and howard clogging the lane and on top of that the has no shooters so nash is in no mans land and nash is a defense liability but thats another issue and I agree they shouldve kept mike brown...the lakers are finished
Delete*the lakers have no shooters*
DeleteYea im not sure whats good with Nash. Maybe hes not in shape or out of rhythm bc of his injury. Yea n d12 is straight suckin it up. Its like he learned nothing from ewing. N hes lucky bynum aint playing bc he wud b receiving more heat.. But as the leader kobes gotta make it work. N if they trade nash n d12 now esp d12 Theres no future. They have to trade gasol n sign another swing player or fire dantonis bitchass
ReplyDeleteYeah i agree kobe should have been focused on being a better leader comng into the season as opposed to being so hell bent on proving to everybody that its still his team. That and his off ball defense which has been horrible for years now i do blame him for but to say its all his fault u cant b no more than a kobe hater man. I mean u guys talk like hes playing with kd or somebody, who else is gonna shoot the ball!? And there 17-25 by this point i would think hes trying a different approach but if d12 aint willing to talk it out like a man than shit wont get right
DeleteKobe has said put all the blame on him. He's the only one turning up to play every game
DeleteIm not saying he isto blame for everything. But as the leader. U get the praise when they win so u gotta take the blame when they lose. N I think ur right his I still got it attitude is hurting them. Hes been tgere n done that he needs to pass the reigns. He needs to be 2nd /3rd choice. Allow nash n d12 to do thier thing. I think they r playin scared .
DeleteLakers = owner with too much pride, wrong coach and system, too many mouths to feed, no trust, no help defense, defenseless point guard, selfish 2 guard, thrown under the Buss center playing power forward, immature center and no bench (because of the system). We all know this and nothing is changing. Either make a trade or keep recycling the same Laker problems.
ReplyDeleteTrue True True! Believe it or not, but they still have a great shot at making the playoffs. They are 4 games out of the 8th seed and the teams above them also suck.
ReplyDeleteLakers sucks because of kobe n miami heat is great because of kingjames. If bron was with lakers or any other team its guarranteed playoffs, but kobe cant even get them to. 500. Lakers are loosers l.a.l n kobe is a faggie!
ReplyDeleteExactly!!! Lebron had the best record in the east with Mo Williams as the second best player and took a team to the finals that had eric snow as starting point guard and kobe has dwight nash and gasol and cant get above .500 pure garbage
DeleteDont think eric snow was on that team and thats definitely not a fair comparison weak as tha east was back then but wateva
DeleteI bet kobe couldn't have done that with the players lebron had...kobe wouldve been crying and complaining like a muthafucka that nigga a pussy waiting to get fucked
DeleteHa! Actually i think that team wouldve been better with kobe cause im sure he wouldve avg more than 21 points against the spurs n the finals. Then maybe that cavs team wouldve won a game n the finals. Lol thats nothin to bragg about bruh
DeleteKobe wouldnt have even made the playoffs...Come on bruh lebron was a 21 year old kid doing that what was kobe doin at 21???? Coming off the bench???? Lol
DeleteWinning rings nigga lol. Different situations tho
DeleteThat nigga didnt have no fucking rings at 21
DeleteMeaning kobe^^^
DeleteU right. He was 22.
DeletePreach jus loves to suck kobe up dats all. Kobe fans hate to see LeBron shine. True haters. Least Bron don't bring his teammates down or is selfish.
DeleteHow is this not a Dwight's fault is beyond me. Dude doesn't stay serious for one second, airballs the basketball in 4th quarter, sloppy post moves, no jump shot, can only score down low with little D, won't talk with teammates about the way he want things to make it work and then he thinks knocking the door of Drose in the midnight is funny. Biggest clown on this planet.
ReplyDeleteNash isn't the problem understand when Nash had gortat they would pick n roll all the time.and with channing fry and Dudley it was lights out. I'm sorry but I think its Kobe messing up the rhythm of the offense and blunt shots and yes he gets them back in the game but kills them allso with his dumb shots Nash just gives him the ball Kobe can't set a dam screen to roll or anything dam man
ReplyDeleteI dont think its the same nash tho. Not unless he is still slowed by that leg injury, idk but his 10 and 8 is not worth it, especially with his problems d.
DeleteMy opinion on it is that Kobe and Nash are two superstars that already have their own developed styles, and they aren't meshing well. They're too far into their careers to start meshing. On top of that, you have Dwight. He has great talent, but it's raw and unrefined. He needs the time that Kobe and Nash don't have to perfect his game.
ReplyDeleteListen look at the stats. D12 gets 9 shots a game kobe ass takes 30 shots a game and even on 9 shots a game he is getting 18 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocks game but somehow the Lakers loosing is all D12 fault are yall serious. Kobe plays no defense and neither does Steve Nash who can't gaurd nobody so gor D12 to get all the blame is weak. I didn't even mention the fact that Paul Gasol is playing very weak.
