Stackhouse talks Wade aging

Jerry Stackhouse, 38, understands that one has to change his game as one evolves from an athletic superstar into an efficient veteran. During his time with the Heat organization a couple of years ago, Stackhouse worked with Wade and stressed the importance of changing one's game as they mature and he recently shared his thoughts on Wade to the media.
"He's not able to jump over guys. It's just about being smarter. He's tremendously smart. I think the transition for him will be easy. It's tough. In my mind, I still think I can do everything that I did when I was 25. In actuality, I can't. It's just about trying to figure out your spots....He still has two or three years of still playing at a high athletic level, but he needs to start doing it before you get to that point. A lot of guys get there and aren't thinking about it prior to it. It kind of helps that transition a bit."

True statement by stack. I wonder how good Westbrook or Rose will be when they loose their speed or how effective Lbj will be when he isn't that fast anymore and he doesn't have a post game. I actually think wade will be fine because he has a great post game and mid range shot but when mother nature calls some other superstars its gone be ugly.
ReplyDeleteI think lebron will rely on the jump shot more. Wade is gonna have to be a primary post up...thats where hes at his best....the fadeaway bank.shot. but we'll see.
DeleteWade going 2 be more in the post like jordan later in his career but wade going to be good he still beasting on the drive
ReplyDeleteAt 6'3??? Ok
DeleteDo u not watch him play? Yeah hes 6'3. So what? He fades away to get it over the taller defender. Besides, just cause he posts up dosnt mean hes gonna be backing down centers. The person guarding him is gonna be the same size. Thats his go to move already.
DeleteYea i watch him play. And as he loses his lift hes not going to b able to get that shot up over EVERY defender. Kobe is 6'7 and even he had to back off that fade away because it got to where he had a hard time gettin it over some defenders, u c the nigga was using bout a thousand pump fakes to get his shot off. M.j. had the size at the 2gaurd position plus he was alot stronger than most his defenders, especially n his old age.
