Despite the fact that he's played for multiple teams throughout his NBA career including his hometown Denver Nuggets, Clippers guard Chauncey Billups will always see himself as a Detroit Piston and recently spoke to the media about the Pistons breaking up their championship team.
“Honestly in my heart, I still feel like if they didn’t make that move and move me, we’d still be an elite team in the league,” Billups said. “Of course you have to make some changes, (adding) the young guys.....I still had some great, great years left,” Billups said. “I never wanted to leave, even though I was home (Denver) and it was good to be home, I always wanted to be a Piston. I wanted to retire a Piston....I’m still … Even though I’m over it, I still don’t get it....It wasn’t like I was 36 or 37 and I couldn’t rock anymore. I was still rocking. I was still in my prime.”
Detroit killed themselves.... I loved their roster back than...Hamilton billups rasheed n Ben with Prince...shud have fought to keep them together like the spurs did with their core..
ReplyDeleteU know wat really fucked them up? Even tho they did win 1 with that roster, if they wouldve drafted melo instead of darko!??? Man the nba would b totally different now as far as peoples feelins about who the best players r right now. Think about melo comin from Syracuse and winning, he probably wouldve stepped right into the nba winning championships and the perception of him wouldve totally been different i think.
DeleteYea u right...its crazy how 1 person can change the outlook of the NBA so much ...Kevin Durant n Oden...melo and darko...kwame brown n every other player in that draft class lol..Sam Bowie n Jordan
Delete...so many franchises would be completely different with just 1 pick!
i agree eith preach on this 1
ReplyDeleteHell yeah I say that all the time man they would've have 4 to 3 rings easy smh
