Kevin Durant talks Russell Westbrook

Quietly Russell Westbrook is putting together a pretty nice season. He's averaging 3 more assists than last season and ironically his shots have come down versus last season. Recently Kevin Durant spoke to the media about the growth that Westbrook has shown.
“He's just slowing down. Taking his time,” said Kevin Durant. “As you start to grow in this league, the game starts to slow down for you a little bit. You start to see things earlier than you would the first or second year. So he's just getting everybody involved … He's sacrificing shots for himself to mix it around for the whole team. That's what great point guards do and he's having a helluva season.”

He still taking way too many shots, i say pass the ball more to your teamates and help make them better b.cuz youll need them to perform during the playoffs. Thats why i think d.rose is a way better pg than westbrook. Once westbrook figures it out he will be as good d.rose

D rose is just as bad for forcing shots and not using his teammates, but i understand its been so long since u seen rose play u probably 4got that. Him being healthy and being there alone makes him better than rose! People been killin russ for years just because k.d. is on his team and forgetting russ was not a pg to begin with and now since they lost harden it has put even more pressure on him to learn and play the position pg. westbrook has responded...give him sum credit

DeleteWestbrook cause he can stay healthy. Rose been having injury problems since he came n the league. And i wouldnt b surprised if he ends up just like d wade...on the decline by the time he hits 30.

And not only that everytime you watch russ play a game your guaranteed to shake ur head n say what the hell is he doing or thinking when he got kd the best shooter n player in his team n he doesnt pass him the ball or create for him instead he hogs the ball and keep shooting even if hes 3 of 20 shots. Its the same game everyone is watching so we all see it n you cant deny it.
DeleteYea thats wat im sayin tho, he tryin to change. Hes not shooting the ball as much and assist r up. And hes gotta shoot the ball on that team cause him and k.d., kmart r only scorers. And i can say it was plenty of games when i was watchin rose and shakin my head. If u look at the teams okc is better because they have 2 legit superstars, rose is the only superstar but u c n his absence that the bulls have more guys with offensive skill than okc and when rose was playin he wasnt using them like he should. Even when rose came back last year b4 the playoffs b4 he got hurt he was still trying to force shots n the paint even after seeing his teammates when plenty of games without him and he got hurt doing that. Like i said they both have the same weaknesses n my book but ima go wit the guy who can stay healthy and earn his money.

DeleteD rose is better especially for the fact that Westbrook.gives so many turnovers. D Rose is a better passer, I don't forget because I am a fan of all athletic point guards and these guys are both at the top of the list.

DeleteI also think D. Rose is a better player and passer because Rose is a natural pg. The big difference in Rose and Westbrook is that Rose shows up big in the big moment and Westbrook chokes. Its not about the number of turnovers if you ask me its when you get them and Russ looks like a high school player in crunch time.
DeleteIve seen westbrook hit big free throws n a couple of playoff games last year. And ive seen rose go lebrick n a couple playoff games. Not sayin russ is more clutch cause i know rose has a couple game winners also but russ doesnt get that oppurtunity
DeleteMan you gotta look at all the mistakes Russ make in the final 3min of a close game. He is horrible in crunch time as far as turnovers go but he might be a slightly a better scorer then Rose if he had his own team and that's hard for me to admit because I'm a Rose fan.

DeleteRuss might be better a lil better than last season but it will show during playoffs. I said it before and I'll say it again Russ needs to move to the 2 spot I think OKC would be 10x better and they probably wouldn't have done so poorly in the finals. You have the leagues top score on your team PASS THE BALL!

I'll take Westbrook all day offensively they're equally yoked Westbrook the better defender n he's fearless. Dnt let the mvp fool y'all if you switched those two out there would be no huge difference in the teams drose just gets to show case his talent and not get downed for it customers he's not on teams with kd he's in Chicago wit nobody as good as him
