Yeah it sucks for the fans and it was a dumb decesion by the spurs...but i dont think there should be a fine. I feel like thats what the nba has came down to, stern has to fine for every little thing. Whats next...getting fined for a double dribble?
ReplyDeleteThis i feel is a legimate fine. If teams can rest not just 1 star but 3 stars especially in a nationally televised game all at once it will ruin the league. Its better to put the foot down on this one fast.
ReplyDeleteDumb decision by Stern. Just because they're losing out on money, he has to go and dish out a fine. The Spurs organization can rest their players as they see fit. They're not in it for the money/publicity - they're trying to create the best possible situation to produce wins. If benching their starters against the defending champs after they (the Heat) have had four days of rest is part of their plan, so be it.
ReplyDeleteWhat is next? If a team decided all stars will stay on the bench, will they get fined?
ReplyDeleteCan't a club decide who is playing and who is not? What is the base for a fine decision?
This is ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteThat's what happens the average age on your team is 37. They need rest I ain't mad at pop the only thing I would say is wouldnt u want to see how ur key guys match up against other teams to adjust how u play them next time around
ReplyDeleteDats just stupid, so now u get fined if u want ur star players rest a game becuz u want dem to stay healthy, well for at least most of da season. Da season just started
ReplyDeleteThe heat would have rested their starters aswell if they weren't afraid of losing like pop . They just aren't as well drilled and were almost outsscored by the bench. And maybe he was testing his bench nothing like testing them against the champs
ReplyDeleteIt was actually a good game, stern should leave it alone but im good if he want to fine the heat for almost losing that game at home last nite. The spurs didnt have jackson, Leonard either.
ReplyDeletePop has been doing this for years and nothing was ever said against it. Stern is being ridiculous by just acting upon this now. I am a Spurs fan and feel as if the big three need rest especially when their schedule was as busy as it was this week. They just came off a win in Orlando where the big three played great. I feel as if benching Green was a little unusual but this should not be fined. It shouldn't even be a concern.

Wow way to throw ur power around. Why does it even matter if Pop benched them. The man knows what he doing Spurs are contenders with the same guys for years.David Stern thx you for the many years you put into this league but its time to step down ASAP. Ridiculous stupid fine.

Goodness you get fines for farting these days. If the coach wants to take care of his players or do like I said before just scout the heat why would there be a fine? If the spurs organization doesn't care stern shouldn't either.

Coach should be able to choose his players which ever way he wants. It may be inconvenient for the fans sometimes, but thats just the way it should be. Surely Stern isn't going to pick the players for the game, nor should anyone seek for his approval. This fine is ridiculous.

I think it was both a chance to rest his stars and use a tactic. Pops wanted to make a statement. "We almost beat the champs with our bench."
ReplyDeleteHes the coach he will play who he wants when he wants so fuck off david
ReplyDeleteAll these players r getting paid Big time money. They should be in the court like a real basketball player.
