NBA officials will emphasize the ‘Reggie Miller rule’ for a shooter who kicks his legs out during jump-shot attempts to create contact and draw fouls. Officials plan to call offensive fouls on shooters who blatantly kick out their legs to initiate contact.

DeleteFlops actually do involve contact, a flop is just an over reaction to contact. The leg kick is equivelant to a flop because both are tactics to get the ref to blow the whistle when they're isn't a reason for it.

ReplyDeleteSmall forwards and shooting guards are supposed to get a small portion of their points out of free throws. That's basketball 101. However, I agree that flopping is ruining it. There's nothing wrong with points off honest free throws that came from legit shooting fouls. The ones that come off flops shouldn't be rewarded.
