Dwight Howard made the move that he was destined to make when the Orlando Magic traded their "franchise player" to the Los Angeles Lakers. This current season will be the last of Howard's current contract and while he can sign an extension with the Lakers or wait until the off-season where he can earn a larger contract from the Lakers or in free agency. Do you think the Lakers can convince Howard to sign an extension "their preference" or will we see part 2 of the Dwightmare with a potential move in free agency?

He has got a ridiculous team to do it with and now kobes minutes and shots will go down. He will feed the big man and let him attack the rim. The Lakers do look good this year, assuming everyone stays healthy. It will be very interesting to watch Steve Nash guarding Russel Westbrook in the playoffs. I love Nash, and any team would be lucky to have him, but he will have his hands full with Westbrook. I know that is part of the reason why the Howard addition was so good for the Lakers, but I will be very hard for Dwight to help his older teammates out AND stay out of foul trouble... We will see

Name me 1 guy u know who shuts westbrook down all the time or k.d. for that matter, i mean that shit works both ways they gotta guard the lakers as well. The chances of nash holdin westbrook n the 4th quarter is highly unlikely anyway, probably kobe on westbrook and people 4get maynor will b back this year so i can c okc playing him and westbrook together n 4th quarters depending on whos playing well at the time. Just like the lakers can go with jamison and meeks along with nash and kobe, d12 or pau, duhon is a decent defender so u never know wat role any of these guys r gonna play. Lakers have added versatility to there roster so it wont b as easy as it was for okc to defend lakers either. Last year all okc had to do against the lakers was crowd the paint and man up on kobe which meant kobe or bust because of no other consistent outside shooter on the floor for the lakers, that wont b the case next year.

DeleteIn the west? I'd say Tony Allen could certainly make either one of those guys' lives more difficult. In the East? Avery Bradley and Rajon Rondo could do some work on the pair. If you say Rondo is too small to guard KD, go back and watch some hilights of him guarding Lebron in the 2011 playoffs. KD is the best scorers in the game, but until he gains some weight and develops a post game, I'd put a small on him to give him difficulty on the dribble
