Smith wants to start

Knicks guard J.R. Smith would prefer to be considered a starter after being a sixth man for the majority of his career. Smith when have the chance to start once the season begins due to Iman Shumpert still recovering from tearing his ACL. Smith recently told Jared Zwerling of ESPN New York of his desire to start.
“I would prefer to start. I would rather be a starter,” he said. “My goal was to come in here and be a starter, and play with those other four guys on the floor. It is frustrating after a while that people see me as a sixth man, sixth man, sixth man, when you believe you’re a starter. But at the same time, you have to understand this is a team game and you have to put individual goals aside.”

Dude been n the league for a while and still takes sum of the dumbest shots ive ever seen. Thats why your a 6th man, 6th man.
ReplyDeleteNawl J.R. Smith you should stay coming off the bench bro....with him starting that makes the knicks bench weaker than it already is
ReplyDeleteDude is a starter and on the right team could be a 25+ pts a night guy. He should have went to Dallas, Phoenix, or Charlotte where he could be the man or the 2nd guy and show case his talents. He is not meant to be a role player but if you didn't want to be a sidekick why sign with a team with so many other stars?

He needs to stay where he is. He can come off the bench n shoot as many 3s as he wants to. That shit ain't gonna fly in the starting lineup with melo n Amare. N who cares if ur a starter n Why is that a personal goal. Smh terrible. Not liking this at all. It's not about talent but what ur team needs. I know he said that at the end but it doesn't feel genuine. He makes the 6th man sound like a horrible thing. Not a good sign for my knicks already
ReplyDeleteDon't worry Smith...u start in 2k lol
ReplyDeleteThis guy is a fool, hes lucky to b the six man and not 7 or 8 option, hes a ball hog and his shot selection are suspect, i like his athletisism but thats all hes got. He sound so selfish right now! Harden is better then him and hes not complaining to b a starter. Like i said, what a fool
