Ref talks new flopping rule

Veteran NBA official Danny Crawford recently spoke to the media and shared his thoughts on the NBA's new anti flopping rule. This will be Crawford's 28th season as an NBA official and there's no indication that he plans on slowing down.
“I actually love the system because we have no involvement at all.....to put us in the position to have to call a technical foul, that’s more work for us. So I actually love the approach that they’re taking where it’s a league office review. We’re totally out of the mix with that....I think it’s going to make the game cleaner,” he said. “It will make our job a little easier. It will still be a tough job.”

And just to b clear I was talkin about another serial flopper, James harden. We already know thats a Miami heat special, and all established superstars cry to the reff...thats not even a debate.
DeleteThat comment was directed more to the cat above u. Yea the refs need to get it.right but these players need to just play ball. All calls r judgment calls but determining whether a player flopped or not is a lil diff. Its not as clear cut as other calls. N tho we see it we r further removed n have replay. They don't have the advantage of seeing the whole court like we do.

DeleteI think KD and Paul Pierce are the 2 biggest floppers. KD kill me with sticking his legs out during his shots or throwing is arms into defenders to draw contact its so fake it makes me laugh when people call him the best player in the league. If you take away his 10pts a game he averages from the freethrow line dude is just a regular 18-20pts a night dude like Rudy Gay or Danny Granger. Numbers and game film say KD is the leagues biggest flopper. Numbers don't lie.

DeleteAtleast 4 out of 5 are flops watch the tape. I'm not calling KD garbage because he can definitely ball I'm saying he gets a third of his points from the line off flopping. Hey they let him do it so good for him but hopefully this rule will make him stop flopping and get buckets like everybody else. Get your points like a man.
DeleteBut if you gone flop do it big like Paul Pierce fake like someone killed you, go to the freethrow line knock down 2 freethrows then fall out, get wheeled to the locker room, and then run out the tunnel like superman and drop 35-40pts. Now thats how you flop!
ReplyDeleteYea Paul pierce is another one. Don't agree with kd. That sweep under the defenders arms when he's shotting is a foul. Tim duncan mastered that moved. Its cheesy but it is a foul not a flop. The refs have to call it.
DeleteYou can't initiate the contact and then fall to the ground just to get to the line. The changed that rule last year remember. No if the offensive player creates the contact its suppose to be an offensive foul but KD do it all game. All I'm saying is take away his freethrows from those kinda calls and he is not great just very good. Substract 10 from 28 and you see what it is. I'm only impressed by buckets not freethrows off of flops.
DeleteN I don't agree with kd being the biggest flopper. Ginobli wade bron cp3 r the top ones to me. A majority of players do it. I feel these guys flop several times throughout a game.
