NBA drops center spot from All-Star ballot

The NBA will no longer have a guaranteed center spot on its All Star game ballots beginning this season. Going forward, fans will be required to vote for two back court players and three front court players to comprise the starting five.

Most centers today can only 1 or 2 things well and cant even b on the floor sometimes because of certain situations and matchups. I dont think hortford and Noah r true centers they dont defend the paint well but u got chanlder who does defend paint well but nothing else. Of course McGee and cousins r up and comin like I said to begin with theres more true centers n the west than the east. Read my comments better b4 u disagree because honestly u just made my original point for me. Thanks for naming other WEST CENTERS for me

Deletethere are always really 5 true centers in the league 1.Howard 2.Bynum 3. Marc Gasol 4.Horford 5. Hibbert that's it no 1 else everybody else you guys mention are good at 1 thing but they're not good on both sides these 5 centers are good on both sides and they always get a double double. Howard is dominant, Bynum is probably the best center proficient in the paint. Marc has blossomed into A double double machine. Horford is a Center, don't let the height fool you he's one the best rebounders and with that massive body he's the best at boxing out and spacing the floor. and he's a great passer. Roy is the most finesse player at the big man position yeah I know he slow but that's his best weapon he's slow to the point you don't know what he's going to do around the rim. with his Unorthodox style of play. Noah could be in that top 5 he needs to step it up on offense he's 1 of the best passer when it comes to a big man and he's a great defender

ReplyDeleteyea th west has always had more relevant big men than the east that's just the history of the NBA but I think as the league continues to evolve small ball will b more popular and it's not because the big man is.nt important it's just the mentality of players from a young age everybody grew up wanting ti be like mike thats y u have a 6'10 kd 6'8 lbj 6'10 lo and Wat a 7'0 dirk doing the things that they do and being so Mobil on the court. really the 5 spot is a dead position nobody grows up saying I wanna play center and a lot of coaches at a lower level don't know how to groom these players at an early age hence the lack of skill u see at the position in today's game

DeleteI think horford is one of the better offensively groomed big men he has a good midrange j he can play with his back to the basket as good as any other he rebounds well but not one of the better paint defenders I mean he's solid 1 on 1 but not a very good help side defender n that's what I classify as a god paint defender u gotta b able to do both
