Today we celebrate the start of a new NBA season and the birth of The Hardwood Nation. In our previous incarnation, The Real NBA, we fought hard to bring you the latest, most relevant NBA news/content and the fan participation has been simply amazing and for that we say thank you. I am making myself available to you, the fans, today. Use the comment field to ask me any NBA related question and I will do my best to reply to each and every question asked.
Who do you predict will win it all this year? And what's up with all these Knicks injuries?
ReplyDeleteAs far as the Knicks it just comes down to old age. Those players have a lot of miles on them. Despite the moves that the Lakers and Thunder made this off-season, I see the Miami Heat repeating.
ReplyDeleteDo you think the kings are going to seattle??? And how long do you think the kings will continue to let themselves be a none factor before they do something ...as a kings fan i think they just dont care about getting wins or the play offs.
ReplyDeleteThe Kings have been mismanaged for a while and I can understand your frustration. David Stern has said that he wants a team in Seattle by the time he steps aside in 2014 so he must get the ball rolling now. i do believe that the Kings will be moved to Seattle but the loses will continue despite the move for at least another 3-4 years. Hopefully you'll see new direction of the new potential ownership in Seattle.
ReplyDeleteAs a Miami fan, I'm wondering what you think of Chris Bosh. How well do you think he'll stack up at the center position against others, considering he isn't the biggest of guys down there but he dies have finesse? And how well do you see Dwyane Wade playing after having his lowest ppg last season even though his fg % was his highest?
ReplyDeleteConsidering that there isn't too many true big men left in the NBA, Bosh will do just fine. His shooting touch will allow him to stretch the floor and create slashing lanes for LeBron and Wade. Wade has realized that he doesn't have to heavy lift every night and he will defer to James and Bosh if it equates to wins. He's fine doing that, his task now is to be an even more efficient player than he already has been which started last season with his career fg%.
ReplyDeleteThank you. If I may ask, what are your playoff predictions and in how many games will each team take it? I'm not sure if you've already considered or predicted this or not but I just thought I would ask.
ReplyDeleteI haven't thought of playoff matchups yet but there's two teams that I think may cause an upset or two. Those teams are the grizzlies and pacers.
DeleteYou are on the money with my Grizzlies
Deletedo u think the loss of harden will effect okc's chemistry that much? I mean I know okc got back sum good talent for him, both for now and the future but alot of people feel like harden was okc best playmaker. Take him and cook out rotation and add Martin and lamb? I dont know, do u think they have to many guys on perimeter jackin up shots now? Does it hurt them or help them against my lakers?
ReplyDeleteHaha. Preach, no homo but you've actually grown on me. Looking out for your Lakers. I can't help but respect that from one fan (of a different team, of course) to another. All I have to say is you see who is predicted up top to take it this year. In case you missed it, its my Miami Heat. Lol
DeleteOkc actually has the potential to be better post harden. I feel that way because Eric Maynor will be available this season and he'll play heavy minutes along side of Westbrook who is a natural 2. Think of this line-up, maynor, westbrook, Martin, Durant, and ibaka.....can the Lakers run with that? The key to a Lakers potential win over okc in the playoffs is home court advantage.
DeleteYou bring up a valid point but isn't Maynor becoming a free agent?
DeleteScary! but yeah thats the lineup I can see okc finishing games with this season. We good tho, I think we still got 1 more bench player to pick up and flash as a laker fan im just being patient cause I know it probably wont b until march until we get to see wat the lakers really look like, but I know we damn sure alot better than we was last year. C.l. loved that read on Russ westbrook, u boys need to check that out.
DeleteLast one. What are your thoughts on Chuck's comment about "LeBron can be better than Jordan"? Its one things to say he can and another to say he will. What's the likelihood of it happening, in your opinion? And rings are always the argument but if that's the case, why is Bill Russell never in the equation, seeing as how he has 11?
ReplyDeleteEric Maynor will become a free agent at seasons end.
ReplyDeleteThank you Preach, I've wanted to do that post for some time and it just seemed that now was the right time with the launch of The Hardwood Nation.
ReplyDeleteCharles Barkley is my guy and as you may know the very best friend of Michael Jordan. The thing is that some consider Michael the greatest and others consider Russell the greatest. I am a student of the games history so in my opinion, Bill Russell is the greatest living basketball player. LeBron James however can reach Michael's greatness but first we have to see how the career of Kobe Bryant will turnout because Kobe is right there on the threshold.
ReplyDeleteDo u think sterns stepdown has anything to do with all tje critizism he got for the moves as blocking the paul trade and the supost conspiracy with n.o. getting the number one pic and all the fines and enforcing technicals for players emotional acts on the court?
ReplyDeleteJay-
Or maybe he was simply too old, Stern should have left his position years ago. No one is perfect, no league is perfect but Adam Silver is his protege' so keep that in mind. I don't think he was forced out, he just ran his course as commissioner.
ReplyDeleteWho will be the 1st to go on the Miami's Big 3? I say Bosh..who do you think?, Miami can't afford them forever so someone has to leave in the next 3-4 years I believe when contracts r up. N I'm a Bosh fan lol
ReplyDeleteMiami can actually afford all 3 going forward because outside of James the values of Bosh and Wade will drop. If the Big 3 are the break up, I believe it will be Wade leaving to play for his hometown Bulls before he retires.
ReplyDeleteOh ok that makes sense, I was gunna pick wade but I didn't think Miami would give him up unless he wanted to go
DeleteLet's b real, Chicago will never win a championship with the roster they have, n now that Rose is injured chances r 0 to none, why can't anybody see this?, Rose needs help..
ReplyDeleteWho do you think wins most improved player this year and why? My moneys on either Klay Thompson or Andrew Bynum
ReplyDeleteHow long do you think it will take for the Celtics to find their groove with their newfound depth? I have a lot of faith in Doc Rivers, but it seems it will just take some experimenting to perfect the lineup. It also helps that Sullinger has Garnett to mentor him. haha
ReplyDeleteI think Michael Beasley has a great chance to win the Most improved player and having a green light to shoot in phoenix will help.
ReplyDeleteYes Beasy B will shine..I predict him to do well as well in phx if he can just keep his mind right
DeleteForgot about Beasley but my question is can he stay focused and handle the pressure?
DeleteThe Celtics are always tricky to understand, they win games that they should and then lose to teams that they shouldn't. They have a lot of new pieces and it may take until the All-Star break for them to mesh. Doc Rivers is a great coach but I will say that the Celtics slow rotations on defense in the preseason was alarming.
ReplyDeleteWill Rose win a championship? With teams like Miami boston Knicks nets n sixers all making big moves, wat can rose n the bulls do to finally bring some gold back to Chiraq?
ReplyDeleteThey are an enigma at times. They have been the cause of a lot of both surprise and anger for me. Haha. I know what you mean about the preseason. Hopefully, they can get their shit together.
ReplyDeleteAs the Bulls are currently constructed, I can't see Rose winning a championship. He may still in the future but not with this current line-up. The Bulls will not be able to make a big move for another 2 years due to cap limitations. Can they afford to have Rose essentially waste two of his prime years? The solution is to amnesty Carlos Boozer and then free up the necessary cap space to get Rose real help sooner.
ReplyDeleteThe kings will not move. The maloofs will not sell the team. Sacramento will do damage this year mark my words!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think the most entertaining rivalry will be this year? Celtics-Heat, Nets-Knicks, or Lakers-Clippers?
ReplyDeleteAll of those are great answers but I'll add Heat-Lakers to that list only because Stern would die to have a Heat-Lakers NBA Finals series. To answer your question, Celtics-Heat
ReplyDeleteThat would be a good one, too. The season is always better when you see teams play that are at each others' throats. Nothing beats the 80s Celtics-Lakers, though.
DeleteThank you sir, I appreciate it, I've had my eye on them for some time now
ReplyDeleteI'd hope so, I look at it like this, if he can't do well in Phoenix then where could he? His skill set is perfect for the Suns and this will be his last chance to make a mark in the NBA.
ReplyDeleteToday was awesome guys and we truly appreciate it, all of you made The Hardwood Nation possible and that's why we work so hard to keep you informed. The questions were terrific and I hope I did a good job with answering them all. We will do this again very soon.
