Hibbert unhappy

Pacers' center Roy Hibbert isn't happy with the NBA's recent change to the All-Star Ballots. It was revealed days ago that the NBA will omit the center position from the ballot and instead feature two back court and three front court players, which would potentially allow 3 forwards to be voted as starters. Last evening before the Pacers faced the Bulls, Hibbert expressed his displeasure with the new change.
"I think it's bull (expletive) to tell you the truth.....I feel like it takes away from the guys who are legitimate centers. It makes the pool a lot bigger....I understand most centers are not exciting guys and people would rather see guys like Garnett and Amare, but it's still not right," Hibbert said.

He has a point.
ReplyDeleteIt's truly like a smack in the face for the good centers in the league.... They will have to work twice as hard to become an all star even at they're own position.... It does make the all star game more exiting but takes a lot of does guys out the picture
ReplyDeleteAndy Bogut will never be an allstar now :(
ReplyDeleteLMAO!
DeleteJust put up better numbers thats all I can say. I didnt really think he deserved to b a allstar last year to b honest his numbers wasnt all that and thats why they changed the voting so they wouldnt have to force centers onto the allstar team when theres other guys more deserving
ReplyDeleteI agree with hibbert....I say just leave how it was because always been that way so why change it now
ReplyDeleteYou got chandler, horford, hibbert, bynum, Noah, lopez in the east and Howard, bogut, cousins, Marc gasol, mcgee in the west so the balance of good true centers in each conference is pretty balanced unless I missed someone really dont see the point in taking the center off the ballot
ReplyDeleteTha game aint the same man its that simple. all those guys u named r good centers but b honest only 1 has put up allstar numbers consistently, year n and year out. Bynum should b a allstar every year if he can stay healthy and I think cousins will b on a couple of allstar teams but those other guys I dont know. if the pacers run there offense thru hibbert and west like I think they should then hibberts numbers should b fine
DeleteIt's not about numbers. Its popularity. Don't forget allstars r picked by fans. N outside of dwight n bynum there are no popular centers. N consistently for the past few years there maybe 1 or 2 popular centers each year. N now since its a new waive of hybrid players who cud play the 3,4,5 position it needed to b done
ReplyDeleteSo u sayin hibbert is popular? Cause I dont know alot of hibbert fans. I know he got sum fan votes but I think the combination of injuries to guys like Lopez and horford along with the pacers reg season success forced the NBA to put hibbert on the allstar team.
DeleteHibbert is unhappy because he knows the change slims the window of opportunity for making the all star team. His numbers from last year really didn't deserve all star recognition. In my opinion, the fans would greatly benefit from the 3 forward option. Now, I would say that the reserves should definetly have a center in consideration.
ReplyDeleteHibbert you just need to play awesome like we know you can and they should change it to peers and coaches voting in all stars
