Gay talks being cut from Team USA

Many were surprised when Rudy Gay wasn't added to Team USA during the off-season. Gay sees that as motivation to prove to the NBA and fans worldwide that he can impact the game in many ways other than just scoring.
"It was really tough," said Gay. "That was one of those things that I think I'll keep with me for the rest of my career....I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't steaming, that I wasn't mad but at the end of the day you've got to think back and just use that as motivation. I've been doing that, whether it's in the weight room, whether it's on the court or whether it's playing pickup....They can word it however they want, being left off, being cut, whatever....But I feel like that's one of the things I will keep in my mind....I think I can give so much more...Whether that's defensively or offensively, I feel like I can give so much more, and I will."

I like rudy gay and he can definitely ball but i think that memphis team is alot more dangerous playin inside out, feeding gasol and randolph first. I think if gay focused on other thing besides his scoring like his defense and making plays for others like iggy who did make the dream team then his team would b better off and he would probably get the respect hes lookin 4. Needs to improve his 3 point shooting too but gay need to realize hes more of a role player than a superstar, more pipp less jordan.
ReplyDeleteWe need need rudy scoring!!! He gets blocks and steals so that's not a issue we need him to get to the free throw line more. Z-Bo and Marc are great on the inside and the offense should go through Z-Bo but Rudy is our only player who can create his own shot. I hope he is motivated because he got robbed. You can not compare Iggy to Rudy that's a complete insult to Rudy. NUMBERS DON'T LIE Rudy do everything Iggy does and then can score on top of it. Just to the line and most importantly stop dibbling the ball off your foot!!!! You did it 43 times last yr in 66 games.

Man i b letting u slide with sum shit Aj but damn u just insulted the shit outa iggy! I would take iggy over gay any day and if memphis was to make that trade today they would b much better off. Neither 1 of them r knock down shooters but iggy better defender, better team player.

ReplyDeleteNo disrespect to Iggy he a good player but he couldn't guard Rudy with a AK-47. Rudy don't have to guard Iggy because he is horrible on offense he misses lay-ups you know you just average when you the star of a team and they trade you and no one misses you. Philly fans don't even miss or like him. He ok at everything and good at nothing. So Preach we just gone have to agree to disagree.

Yea Definitely disagree. And the only reason philly traded iggy is that contract they feel like they overpaid for him and nobody misses him because they did a good job of replacing him. But all n all we talkin bout the same type player n my opinion i just feel rudy need to except his role like iggy does cause i c neither as a superstar
