Cuban responds to Williams

Recently it was reported on several news outlets that one of the reasons that Deron Williams decided against signing a contract with Dallas was due to Mavericks owner Mark Cuban not being available for a meeting. During the free agency period, Williams did meet with Mavericks coach Rick Carlise and Team President Donnie Nelson. Yesterday while in Germany with the Mavericks, Mark Cuban responded to the criticism by Williams.
“I’m a big D-Will fan, but I’m kind of surprised that he would throw his front office under the bus like that by saying that I would make a difference....I would have expected him to say – like I’d expect one of our guys to say – ‘Hey I’m so thrilled with the front office and the moves we made and our team that it wouldn’t have mattered what he did....That’s what I expect our guys to say and that’s the way I feel about our team. Again, I’m a big D-Will fan, but it’s not about individual players, it’s about building a team. And I really think we put together a good team for the current team and the future....He’s a superstar point guard, but my goal is to build a team. That’s the important thing, to try to win championships...I’m flattered that he thought my presence would have made more of a difference than what the Nets’ management did.’’
^^^this guy....cant admit he blew it
ReplyDeleteWord. He's so full of shit. I know the bubble guts is killing him. How u not gonna meet the superstar pg u tryna sign. I cud understand if he was the low key behind the scenes owner. But he's not far from that. He definitely set his team back a couple of years. Dirk ain't gonna b playing for too much longer n u have no marque player to attract others. Smh
ReplyDeleteWhen u see this guy at every game like he always is,being hands-on with every facet of the game, id expect him to show up for a make or break meeting for his potential superstar pg, yeah he did blow it
ReplyDeleteDamn rite.
DeleteWilliams is a cancer.
ReplyDeleteThat comment from cuban was genius. He took a shot at williams and the nets front office in a proffesional way.
ReplyDeleteDo u guys know why he was not available? He was filming an episode of Shark Tank in LA an dmissed the meeting due to that. He made a decision and now has to live with it. Though I do agree with his comments. D Will should not have stated that Cuban could have made a difference.
ReplyDeleteMakaveli ~~~
Let's b real if Williams really wanted to go to Dallas, he wudda went...u telling me cuz u didn't get to see Cuban, it didn't work out???..that's like alil kid getting mad cuz u ain't buy him ice cream after school
