The Pulse: Your Take

Last week we had a passionate debate about what teams would be the surprise team of the upcoming NBA season and the responses were amazing.....thank you. The majority of the NBA franchise's have rounded out their rosters which will make the following question appropriate. Which NBA player do you think is going to have a breakout season ala Derrick Rose's MVP season?

Melo and bynum. Both should recognize after last season that they just dont get the same respect that there peers do so i expect them both to take it up to a mvp level but of course there teams have to win as well to get that respect. 2 other guys to watch, wont b n mvp discussion but javele mcgee and mike beasely
ReplyDeleteI like that bynum pick I n wit that but Beasley he is a some timer & some timers don't get MVP. Bynum maybe Im thinking maybe Chris Paul.
ReplyDeletePreach is on it. Bynum will definitely get a lot more attention now that he isn't behind Kobe. McGee will also have an great season now that he's been through a full training camp with a team with veterans that can help coach him to mature and work on his post game.
ReplyDeleteI think Bynum can do it if he stays healthy. Last season was not a full season remember that. Chris Paul most definitely can do it because that team has now had time to build chemistry and mesh together. Melo of he decides that he can trust his team then maybe he can but I think we all know that's a stretch. What about Kevin love? Big man that can do it all and is a formidable player.
ReplyDeleteBynum is nit a 40 pt a night big man, and if your going to be a mvp, you have to have great numbers and lead your team to a lot of wins, I don't see the final mvp race being much different then last year, except KD being the front runner. so its KD unless his team takes a step back and they don't have a great year, in that case lebron brings it home.... again. hia is a dumb discussion for that point alone, it shoulda been about ROTY or something else
ReplyDeleteI think u missed the question. I think everybody agrees with u about k.d. and lebron but question was BREAKOUT mvp type season. Meaning a guy who has yet to play at the level. O and im sayin mcgee and beasely r gonna have breakout seasons. I dont think there gonna b mvp canidates cause Phoenix is not gonna b that good and The nuggets r not built to play thru mcgee offensively
DeleteEveryone is looking at bynum but i think it will be jru holiday
ReplyDeleteNObody mentioned Rondo!? Y'all trippin 4 real, he's a proven leader & a court general! Dis season will b his defining year as the best PG n di league. Cp3 has it now but Rondo will b dat nigga! Trust dat. They say numbers don't lie, look out 4 di kid.
ReplyDeleteHe'll do nuthin
ReplyDeleteI'm pick Zach Randoloh, Lamarcus Aldridge, or derron Williams as my surprise MVP candidates. I like Bynum but he is on a team with Nick Young who is a worst ball hog then young kobe and young t-mac combined.
ReplyDeleteComeback player of the yr: Al Horford
Most Improved: Michael Beasley
6th Man: Antwain Jamison or JR Smith
Rookie of the year: Dilliam in Portland or Anthony Davis in New Orleans
AJ
Anthony Davis will win rookie of the year without question... and the man Kevin Durant is taking MVP this year.... a lot to prove from last year amd has the drive to do...also modt clutch player in the game right now
ReplyDeleteYou gotta pick a surprise candidate for MVP not a front runner.
DeleteAJ
Everyone is picking bynum... plays in the east on the sixers.... whats the difference??... Russle Westbrook then...??
DeleteHahaha!!
Bynum ain't runner up for a MVP y'all out y'all mine. MVP clearly gone go to LeBron once again. Wish my favorite player wade can hold him up again. Or Kevin durant. Be more realistic here Melo have to many people on his team dat are greedy so he won't get it
ReplyDeleteYou are an idiot. The question was who you think would have a breakout season not who the front runner for MVP is. We all know Lebron and Durant are the most likely candidates but that wasn't the question. How bout you read the article before jumping to the comment section.
DeleteI say Eric Gordon
ReplyDeleteIf Eric is healthy I agree he a beast! I like that pick I forgot all about him. I think he the 2nd best SG in the league when healthy. He might be 3rd if D Wade ever decide to be Flash again. I just don't see a non-playoff team having a MVP.
DeleteAJ
i think dwilliams will surprise this year. strictly speaking, he d only superstar on e nets. but with better players now, i think it miight allow his game to step up to mvp lvl. my other surprise candidates: kevin love. josh smith (if rebuilding hawks decide to win).
ReplyDelete-b.c
Rudy Gay or Ricky Rubio
ReplyDeleteRubio??? Hahahahahaha he couldnt even.win MVP overseas... cant even score 5 points a game over there
DeleteI see John Wall having a breakout season he'll probably not make the playoffs but I think hes tired of losong and willing to elevate his game. If stephen cury can stay healthy boy he'll be good. If u compare the rookie stats of curry to kyrie irving uvmay argue curry was better or just as good when healthy. Curry can score, shoot, drive, play defense, rebounds well, and he can pass. For mvp I see kevin love bevoming a legit canindate and rondo after that playiff series versies the heat I think rondo can totally mark himself down as best point guard in the league. Lebron and durant are both obviously going to be canindates and I feel that its will go to durant this time out.
ReplyDeleteTisk tisk tisk....kobe still owns this past decade plus..how easily yall forget..u think he fell, off? Hell,no.
ReplyDeleteWe all know Kobe is the man but u are a fool if u really feel like Kobe hasn't lost a step. Get ur head out yo Ass man. It's life u got to get old or die first. Kobe MVP days are over.
DeleteI don't even know what you just said. But I'm pretty sure your saying Kobe for MVP? If so, I really don't see that happening. He's a baller for sure but when you got Durant and Lebron in the mix its just not gonna happen!
ReplyDeleteI was talkn to the dude above my comment. I was sayn that Kobe has lost a step & will never win another MVP regular season or finals.
DeleteMy bad tuhduh I was commenting on him too. I agree with you on Kobes MVP days are over.
DeleteMelo (LeBrons shadow) and Bynum (Howards shadow) got something to prove they will be in MVP talks all season. I think Rudy Gay could really get to that superstar platform aswell he's got all the tools.
ReplyDeleteYou dumb ducks forgot Rondo the beast form the east!!!
