Presti updates Harden situation

Oklahoma City Thunder GM Sam Presti fielded questions about James Harden's future with the franchise during a recent press conference to announce the signing of forward/center Serge Ibaka. It seems as if the writing is on the wall that the Thunder may not have the resources to re-sign Harden despite reports that both sides are currently working on a deal. The Thunder could however use the amnesty clause on Kendrick Perkins to clear up additional cap space in an attempt to retain the services of Harden.
“James is somebody we value,” Presti said Monday afternoon. “We think he's an important part to what we're trying to do with our team and we're hopeful that he'll be with us....By the same token, we've been very upfront and transparent with everybody that we have some inherent challenges that we face as an organization as a result of the new collective bargaining agreement,” the Thunder general manager continued. “I know we'd love to have him here. I think James would like to be here as well. But at the end of the day ... you have to find a way to make it work for everybody.”

Amnesty perk? Better have a back up plan if u wanna win n the west. Like I said westbrook will b the odd man out cause hes always gettin unfairly blamed and it will happen again this year. and westbrook will get traded and go on to b a top 5 player n the nba! Believe that
ReplyDeleteI agree completely that Westbrook can be a Top 5 talent and look forward to his continued ascension.
DeleteYes sir! I think he has to b a 2g period. And if he gets traded and dont have to play beside k.d. and have to worry bout being a distributor, then I think the sky's the limit 4 him. Kinda like wade when he first came into the league and they had to move him to the 2 after his first 2 years except westbrook already has w better jumper and more durable. Okc fans I hope they can keep it together cause if that team wins its good for the whole nba, no doubt but I just dont c it. this could b a potential shaq and penny, or steph and k.g situation n the future cause if u lookin for westbrook to change his game and b cp3 or d will its not gonna happen
