Perkins talks Lakers, Howard

Kendrick Perkins doesn't see the Lakers as a threat and he had to remind everyone that the Thunder were the Western Conference Champions last year in the NBA while speaking to the media.
“I just said it's time to go to work.....I knew the hype was going to be over there on that end and all that. But I'm glad the attention is off us because we're the type that likes to put our hard hats on and do stuff and keep it under the radar. And at the end of the day, when you look at the box score, Oklahoma won. That's the way we like to keep it.....We are the Western Conference champs,” Perkins said. “So at the end of the day, we're not chasing nobody except for the ring. We're chasing Miami to get a championship. It's no guarantee who is going to be where. But we earned the Western champs so we're not chasing the Lakers, we're chasing a championship and that's what it's about.....Yeah we've had our battles in the Eastern Conference but it's not too much of a big difference (with Howard in L.A.) because (Andrew) Bynum wasn't just a cakewalk by no means,” Perkins said. “We definitely got our hands full as a team but we're doing good.”

Got to agree with perkins on that one
ReplyDeleteI genuinely dislike Perkins.. guy is a one of a kind douche.
ReplyDeleteWow can't believe sum 1 said that. KP brings 110 percent every nite he a bully his going to get u them hard rebounds & plays hard tough D. U got to respect him.
DeleteYeah. How could you dislike Perkins? I'm a Lakers fan and still respect the dude even though he was on the Celtics and now the thunder. If you wanna dislike someone make it at least someone who deserves to be disliked.
DeleteHe looks like a turtle. Also westbrook looks like a teenage mutant ninja turtle. But harden is good, so good.....
DeletePerkins brings up a good point. People don't give andrew bynum enough credit. He was the third option for most of his career and still became the second best center in the NBA. Howard may be better at defense, but bynum was a beast in the post.
ReplyDeleteHes right bynum is no cake walk but I guarantee hes gonna have to work way harder against dwight running the floor and fighting for position and he knows it
DeleteOf course he knows it. The whole NBA knows it. If they didn't they wouldn't even be talking about it.
DeleteLol western conference champs means nothing. This guy is so damn ugly. He always got his ugly face on lol.. There ain't winning a ring this year or next. Heat will destroy them easily like last yr
ReplyDeleteAnd lebron is soooo much handsome right? Lol, with that big ass face and a little head together with a sprinkle of hair line. Hes a beauty? And how bout bosh, looks like a lizard, a gay lizard! Let me stop this is childish...
DeleteJay-
people like this guy gives the real heat fans a bad name everyone else had something sensible to say anyway i cant wait to see that match up tho and its good to see the thunder players arnt intimidated they are the western champs
ReplyDeleteesh
What does him being ugly has anything to do with anything,?smh, the heat would kill to have perkins on their roster, idk why hate him, hes not very offensive but hes a banger down low, dwight is a problem to any nba team right now, but perkins would try to muscle him, and my opinion on bynum, hes overrated to me, i know ima get a lot of hate for this but the guy had a good half season in his whole carrer, hes so injured prone! I dont see the comparision if u guys look at the numbers u see dwight got him in every category, how is bynum more offensive when dwight avg like 8 more points a game? Just cause bynum hit 1 three pointer dosent mean hes more offensive lol. Anyways perkins is right, he has the right attitude...

Howard was the first option on Orlando so of course he will have more points than Bynum. For almost all of his career Bynum was either the third of fourth option for offense. Kobe shoots first, then Pau, then Bynum. Watch, Bynums numbers will increase this season because he will be the first option for Philly. And don't be surprised when Howards numbers drop, not because he is a bad player, but because there are always going to be better offensive options with bryant, nash, and gasol on the team.
DeleteI agree with most of wat u sayin but 1 thing about bynum if he gonna b that number 1 option n philly he has got to learn how to get his points against double teams and zone defenses and against guys like perkins who r willing to bang with him and not give up position n the paint do easily. As a laker fan who watched damn near every game last year I can tell u thats the main reason why bynum wasnt getting his touches or his points when we needed it last year besides the lakers not having a pg who can create. It had nothing to do with kobe or pau. I mean who else was on the team that was scorer??? As far as dwight I think he still will get 16 to 20 a nite easy because like I keep sayin he dont need his number called to get his point. And I think after a couple of years of playin with nash and kobe who has a great post up game himself , dwights offensive game will b better and mayb by the time the old guys retire d12's game will b dominate. And im sure he will pick up sum tips from former laker greats like karreem and mayb shaq will stop trippen
DeleteUntil bynum becomes a first option he has yet to prove how offensive he really is, and for dwights numbers idt their gonna drop that much, u can count on him being their second option over gasol, remember, nash loves the pic and role so dwight is gonna get alot of touches, and in orl he too me wasnt first option, anybody in orl was taking 3 and jumpshots b4 putting it down low, they were playing outside in belive it or not, so alot of dwights points were coming of second chances, he didnt really had a pg to play that pic and roll,,,, and okc yeah they lost but couple of those game were really close, i like that okc has live together for a while that means that when they win they gona win for a while...how many times has the bulls lost in the playoffs b4 winning 6? I really dont see miami winning it this year
DeleteJay-
Look at what happened to okc last year.. Did yall forget or something? They got owned badly. They weren't even a challenge to heat. Same shit will happen this year. Okc will just be remembered as the okchockers
ReplyDeleteThe same thing happened to the heat 2 years ago in the finals vs the maves lol or did u forget.
DeleteHeat barely lost to mavs. Plus that was there first yr together smart one. Okc has how many yrs together with same plyrs? Exactly
DeleteBarely lost!!! That was a fuckin embarrassment I dont care if they did win 1 more game than okc did against them. Heat fans cant stop lying to themselves. I bet u think lebron didnt choke either dont u? Lol
DeleteWait who was the mvp? Who won the ring? Exactly. It's just going up hill from now on. Heat proved that they became stronger with mavs loss. There ain't no way any other team can beat them. U know that and all the other ppl on here know it too
Delete^^^lmao!!
DeleteO common..u always talk about Lebron..but if u really watched the championship..miami have their big 3's and same with OKC..but the difference is that miami's trio are more matured than OKC..and also big credit to the back-ups of miami..like miller,Battier and chalmers who made a big impact winning that championship..
ReplyDeletePreach can't speak without Lebron James name in his mouth! Wow. Get over it preach, the boy is GREAT!
ReplyDeleteThe competition is alot tuffer this year, nj, la, clips, phx, bos, min, ny, chi, no, den, phi, all this teams are aloooot better this year, mia has to watch out, all they really got is allen, i dont count on lewis anymore, neither harrelson,,,,
ReplyDeleteJay-
Wow...alot of talk about miami thought this was suppose to be about okc n la?? Personally i agree wit perk..wen ur on top ur there til someone knocks u off ur not competing with them they're competing wit u and its up to u to get better n maintain ya position...n i can honestly see okc being a problem cus they the most talented young n athletic team in the west nobody out there gonna b able to run with them.
