The Washington Wizards will open their training camp next Tuesday but at this point in time it is unknown if Nene will be able to participate. During the London Olympics, Nene had a bout with plantar fasciitis and he hasn't had the time to properly heal. Wizards GM Ernie Grunfeld stated the following in a news conference today.
“He hasn’t had must time to rest this summer because of the commitment he had to his national team.....So we’re going to be very, very cautious. We’re going to take it very slow with him and make sure he’s 100 percent when we put him out there full time....We expect him to be ready for the regular season, for sure....But we will be very cautious with him.”

If he's healthy he can be really good. Washington's has a very good and talented starting 5 but their bench is horrible but I still think they will sneak in the playoffs this yr if Nene and Wall stay healthy.

healthy or not..i don't see them making the playoffs..
ReplyDeleteI agree. I mean I do definitely see improvement but I honestly don't see them in the playoffs, or even making top 10 in the East.

I agree, and I hate that. If they could get a good groove going and give Wall the momentum, they would be a fun team to watch in the playoffs.
DeleteNene doesn't want to play for a non contending team. Success is measured by winning something Washington hasn't managed to do in the last 10 or 15 years. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being traded before the season opener. A good pick up for teams who lack a highly effective C or PF
