Jamison talks role with Lakers

New Lakers' forward Antawn Jamison knows how to be versatile considering that during his 14 years in the NBA he has spent time as a productive player whether it if was starting or coming off of the bench. He seems content to do whatever the Lakers as of him as his only remaining goal is to capture that elusive NBA Championship. With Dwight Howard injured, it seems as if Jordan Hill will start at the 4 spot with Pau Gasol playing the 5, this could mean more playing time for Jamison but as he recently told the media, he is ready.
"That's something I knew coming in that there would be times I'm playing significant amount of minutes or times I'd have a certain role coming off the bench....Fortunately for me, I've been in just about every scenario you can imagine. Whether it's starting for a couple games, keeping my role in coming off the bench ... I will come in and help out this team as much as possible. Whatever is asked of me to do, I'll do it....I'm an old man now," Jamison said. "The off-season for me is how I get better. It's how I stay in shape. It's how I prevent injuries. This off-season has been more mental, especially with knowing I was coming here. I'm being focused, paying attention to detail and making sure I'm doing the proper steps to ensure my body can withstand 82 games and a long playoff series."

Can't wait for the season to start.but my prediction this guy and Howard get injured half way
ReplyDeleteTrue professional. Injuries have never been a problem for him.
ReplyDeleteexcept for last year when he miss the last two months.
DeleteWow big deal. U guys work hard to discredit me dont u? Its funny and pathetic
DeleteI didn't work hard, im a cav fan actually sad to say, it was just 6 months ago. maybe u shud do a little homework b4 hand
DeleteOk the last 2 months of the season. U rite, i missed that....smh
DeleteI hate he is not gone be a starter he always has been a asset on all my fantasy teams pts, boards, and 3's. He never shut it down and faked injuries at the end of the year just because he wasn't on a playoff team like Kevin Love has done to me 2 yrs in a row.

How old is he? Seems like lakers r all pretty old now.. I think the same thing that happened with the spurs will happen to them.. Good during season and owned in playoffs
ReplyDeleteThis guy is old & does not have what little he did have years ago. Good guy but a waste of money for LA I think.
ReplyDeleteAlways been a fan of Jamison. He is going to help LA out. He has the right attitude and now that he's on a contender team I think he will be even more driven to do his best.
ReplyDeletePeople dont realize how bad we missed odom last year.? His is his replacement, not as good on d, not as good a rebounder as odom was but hes war better offensively. I think he can still drop 20 on any given nite. And hes gonna bring much need spacing when he comes off the bench playing with either hill, gasol, or howard and with nash and kobe on the floor hes gonna get alot of open looks. I can see him gettin 25 to 30 minutes a nite and wouldnt b surprise if he is a 6th man award canidate
ReplyDeleteI'm all for jamison but us missing out last year witout odom ...come on doggie . I feel odom was wek sauce in his last year wit da lakers like he was big for nothing and it seemed his mind wasn't in da game probally to concerned wit all those reality tv shows ...if I was an nba team owner I wouldn't let none of my players do reality tv I don't care who ur wife is u know . But I guer odom manager kris jenner pulled some strings and got him back to la one way or another so her daughter can stay close to them.but back to the topic I c him playing a large role wit our lakers I think he still got enough in him .....- bk shady xv3st
DeleteOk dude dont know about all that reality tv shit but i do know odom was the 6th man of the year his last year with lakers. But thanks for ya opinion doggie
Deletedude is right jamison is old, and he averaged 17 last year as the main offensive scorer in clev, so saying he can get 20 a nite when's hes buried on the bench is a strech. but yes, we can both opinions
DeleteI dont get how thats a stretch if u just said he avg 17 last year and no way hes buried on the bench, hes gonna the 6th man. Hill mite start but jamison will get the minutes. Yea its cool to have a opionion if u know wat u talkin about.
DeleteAnd i didnt say he would avg 20. I said on any given nite
DeleteProbably, but i see dwight coming back sooner then expected, still hes gonna b great off the bench...
ReplyDeleteJay-
Anybody here about jalen rose admitting that he tried intentionally trying to hurt kobe years ago - bk shady xv3st
ReplyDeleteNotice how when topics talk about Lakers its all Lakers and no hating. How about u laker fans keep it like dat when u see topics on the heat. Fucking haters.
ReplyDeleteCause laker fans dont talk out the side of they neck. And nigga u hated pretty much on lakers on the last topic so shut yo hypocritical, bitch ass up. U dont run shit here
DeleteEverybody has tried intentionally to hurt Kobe. Look at bitch ass wade. Didn't apologize for it or anything.. But that's what happens when your the best. Players hate on you and try n hurt u
ReplyDeleteThat last comment was stupid! Wade didn't do that on purpose. He did apologize.
ReplyDeleteYea after he said he owed him that from wat happen on the other end....n a allstar game!??? Wade a bitch like his fans. He cant hold kobe and never could, he stay frustrated against the mamba, watch the games
Deletewow preach bringing up all star games to prove a point...
