Veteran forward/center Jermaine O'Neal is in Las Vagas working out at the Impact Basketball Academy. Just as recently as yesterday, O'Neal worked out for the Lakers in an attempt to return to the league. O'Neal's last stop was with the Boston Celtics where he only played in 49 out of a possible 148 games due to various injuries. O'Neal spoke to the media yesterday about his time in Boston.
“I had a fantastic time in Boston, with the city, the fans were phenomenal, the organization was phenomenal, I just don’t know if the playing situation was right to be quite honest.....The hardest thing for me was to not be able to do some of the things I have been quite comfortable doing all my life. I accepted the challenge. I accepted the role. [I didn’t want] 10 shots a game, but it was hard to be told not to worry about [scoring].....“Listen, I don’t want to confuse anybody doing this interview. I’m not saying by any means I can go for 18, 20 a night. But I know I’m still good enough to go for 20 on any given night, if given the opportunity. I wasn’t given the opportunity to post up at all. Not even in practice.”

Maybe if you weren't hurt 75% of the time you were there you would have gotten your chance to post up. Not to mention three fact that you did play in the post every game, but yes Doc wanted you to be more versatile and mobile because that's the offense Boston runs. And if you could have scored 20 a night then you would have done it. If we needed 20 a night then Doc would have asked you to do it. Sometimes a player gets to the end of their career and they need to accept the fact that it is the end. Good luck in LA watching the game from the sidelines because with either Bynum and Gasol or Howard, you aren't going to see the floor much.
ReplyDeleteDream team would rape this Olympic team. They beat Brazil by 11 points. Lmao
ReplyDeleteYou do realize international competition is better nowadays than it was back in '92 so using that as a comparison is irrelevant.
ReplyDeleteSerious shit. Whoever brought up the dream team is an idiot
