Veteran center Tim Duncan has made official what everyone already knew. He has decided to re-sign with the Spurs in a 3 year deal.

But look at the team he has always had compared to what Nowitzki. And horry doesnt have a finals MVP but answer my question how many clutch shots did he hit to help Duncan?

Dirk is Indeed hands down a better shooter but as far as bigs go, Dirk is not classified as a big, I mean when is the last time you actually seen him post up?........ Not turn around and shoot but actually back someone down. He is 7 foot Small Forward if I have any opinion on it.

ReplyDeleteIM a mavs fan for life and Dirk is my fav player. But in reality timmy D is a better all around player. Dirk can shoot from a greatet distance, but mr. Duncan is a true post player. As previously stated i feel labeling dirk as a 7ft sf is accurate, and sir charles gets my vote as greatest PF.

DeleteI am surprised that only one person referred to Timmy as Mr. Fundamentals. Has always been a great player, even since college. Franchise face for an life time. I don't know about top 3 but definitely top 5. In my opinion here would be #1 but but I'm going based off what would be officially done instead of out little poll here. Dirk has definitely had an impressive career and sad to say but I must agree that in the fact that he and the mavs got lucky last year. Not that they didn't deserve it. I love that he and Jason Kidd finally got rings. I would definitely not rate him as a top tier player at his position. I do think that based on his style of play that he really is a 7 foot small forward. I will go on and say that I think he is definitely a top tier player as far as players from overseas are concerned. Name another player that has come from another country that has made the type of impact to a franchise as Dirk has. No disrespect to him at all but got to give credit where credit is due. Timmy has the all around game and had proven it year after year. To call either one of hem boring is disrespectful.

ReplyDeleteI read most of your guys post and to set the record straight, Duncans main position is pf he starts the game as pf and ends it as pf in between the game he plays center because Blair gets too small, and he just started playing more center in the game past 2 years now 14 of the before yrs he played pf. He is the greastest of all time as pf. And any other hof pf will reconize that. As for ppl nameing horry better for having more rings is stupid. Being the greatest doesn't just go in titles but mvps and leading the team. Duncan has had he's moments of clutch shots too don't forget the 3 he made against the suns to win the game and the clutch off balnace 2 he made before fishers .04 sec shot. And as for horry helping Duncan. Horry was there for only 1 ring he's 7th. The yr before he was with them they didn't make the finals. And FYI fork has always had better team then Duncan. Dirk is good but he's not better. Dirk had a allstar nash and finley and couldn't win. Nash is better then parker and respectly finley in early days was better then manu. Dirk also had stackhouse. Allstar Howard. Good terry. Old but good finley. Jamison and he still couldn't win Dallas has been built every yr while Duncan has had the same 2 guys with him since early 2000. In conclusion Duncan has 4 rings. Led he's team every year in rebounds. Blocks. Leadership and points(for 10years) he has 2 reggae. Mvps where Dirk has 1 of each. Dirk will be the greatest big shooting forward but Duncan the best overall. The guy you can build a dynasty with(proven fact)
