Does Lin still want to play in New York?

According to those who are close to Jeremy Lin, his heart is still in New York despite the fact that he's close to becoming a Houston Rocket. The Knicks have said that they will not match Houston's offer to Lin and sources indicate that Lin was surprised by the move. Lin's High School coach stated the following to Yahoo! Sports:
“He did not see this happening, said Peter Diepenbrock.....He sounded surprised. He loves the New York fans. To have the experience that he had for the two months and for that to be over with, that’s quite a shock to the system. I think he really believed the Knicks would match whatever offer he got.”

Sounds like lin was high off his own ass and houston just stupid. They gave him damn near max player money n the final year? That shit is crazy! Cant blame lin for cashin n but didnt he know that knick team had 2 get better? Its not just about him, he wouldnt even come back 2 help them n playoffs after b.d. And shumpert went down.
ReplyDeletelol thought this kid went to harvard. houston knew new york would be 17 million over the cap in that third year, how didn't lin realize before he signed
DeleteHe should not have signed the offer sheet! Especially to a team that dropped your ass and didn't even give u a chance! Where is the loyalty my man? Smgdh!!!
ReplyDeleteAgree with both comments. Lin is a prostitute for going back to da team that didn't even give him a chance.he has no integrity. Oh well. Good luck in Houston.
ReplyDeleteHe wasnt given a chance because Houstonwas already loaded at the point. Would you rather play Lowry/dragic or a player who yet shown he has potential to be a great player?
ReplyDeleteYao Ming pushed for him to come cuz their good friends and old rockets try their best to talk to players to come to houston. But I agree if he wanted to stay ny would have kept him and gave him a legit contract, he shouldn't of had signed the offer sheet, now they're gonna drop his ass cuz he went for the big money, cant blame him for that but its not gonna keep you in ny.
ReplyDeleteDid u c the contract tho? Its crazy! he shouldve known knicks would not wanna match that. The knicks put him on and melo was the guy who asked d'antoni 2 play him. i agree he shouldve had more loyalty .
ReplyDeletei feel sorry for lin
ReplyDeleteRite!!!! He went for the big conract and just thought they would match the offe. You got yourself in a good position to stay where they wanted you and he got greedy. For you to be at 85% in da playoffs you shoulda got off your ass in helped your team and earned your stay.
ReplyDeleteThe NBA is all about money...Lin should be suprised the Knicks ddnt match the offer because he's the one that made that team see the playoffs..He's the one who showed the Knicks how good Novak can shoot, How Fields Can Catch Alleys, And How Chandler can be an Offensive Threat Using The Pick Nd Roll..So in all honesty it goes both ways Knicks is a growing team nd Lin is gon be good. Kidd may only last this season nd become injured like the other veterans..Yea the Knicks gave him a shot to shine but think about it they had no other choice
ReplyDeleteLmao " how fields can catch alleys " that's about it. Da worst shooter in da league. Fact. Felton will be just fine.
Deletedude I'm sorry but all wrong. and fields comment is the funniest thing I've ever.heard, you must not watch the knicks lmao all lin proved was new york needed better ball movement, which everyone knew anyways.
DeleteI have da league pass and a knicks fan. I stated a couple of facts. Fields is 1 of da worst shooters in da league. Felton played well as a knick. Lin's production decreased when melo returned. Which 1 of those facts do u disagree with?
Deletenone of them, I was talking to the guy with the original comment about how he thought lin was worth the money.
DeleteLol. My bad. I agree w u. No undrafted player who played only 25 games is worth that much.
DeleteMoney pays the bills not loyalty if a team offered me a crazy deal like houston for just playing really good for 2months I wouldn't even think about it...I would love to have him back in the knicks with felton but I'm not knocking him for signing that offer sheet get your money bro
ReplyDeleteIf the Knicks really wanted Lin, they would have offered him a contract right away. The Knicks really know how to mess up personnel moves.
ReplyDeleteI agree for going for the money. But if he really wanted to stay in ny like he says he shouldn't of signed the offer sheet. And he shoulda helped in da playoffs wen other players were playing hurt. He said he was 85%. He helped get them there but he didn't help to try and keep them there.
ReplyDeleteThat's true I forgot about when he said he was 85% lol didn't he have a bad knee during the whole linsanity thing anyway I mean I know everyone had to see that brace on his knee
ReplyDeleteFuck lin they gave Jr smith 2 million what the hell. Jcool
ReplyDeleteRite he played wit da brace during linsanity, I guess he felt he did enuff for his name that he didn't hafta strap it on in da playoffs to help a team where he claims he wanted to stay.
ReplyDeleteI agree Jr. Smith shoulda got more than that. He mite be out of control sometimes but he better than lin to me.
ReplyDeleteLin did the right thing. Hes a millionaire now before he slept on a couch. Hes still young he can still grow and get better he can shoot and run point and plays hard. Atleast he prove to everyone even the haters he can play in the spot light. Good for you lin, i think hes gonna develope to be a very good point guard. Give him 2 to 3 years.
ReplyDeletedude stop blindy supporting every one who switched teams just bc your a lbj fan. lol I'm a lbj fan but your comments are just stupid. no one here is hating lin for switching good for him hes rich now, but if you read the topic is says lin was surprised by the knicks not matching bc he really wanted to be a knick still. so people are saying lin is an idoit ( even tho he went to harvard) for signing with houston if he didn't really want to play there. bc every one knows knicks werent and arent going to match that redic offer.
Deletefor the record lin would still be a rich ass millionaire had he stayed in new york, the team that gave him chance and whose fans hes already won over. nows hes the dwight howard spoiler in houston, with no scoring options to pass the ball too. in the exact opposite type of team he excelled in. hell get.better for sure hes only played a third of a real season. but that doesn't mean the team will be better
DeleteYou got issues boy. Why you bringing up bron again he aint even part of this convo. I can say wth i want about lin, i dont give a shit about you boy, go do something with your life. Lol
DeleteUr such a peanut head. Use ur brain sometime NCS. Hopefully u will improve on ur basketball knowledge like lin in a couple of years. U make da least sense out of everybody.
DeleteI make a lot of sense boy. I make so much sense im making dollars. Dont hate cuz im schoolin you just deal with it and move on.
DeleteLmao. "Im making dollars " use that money to get some help. U gotta be from west Virginia boy
Deletenba cs your comments don't make sense this is about lin wanting to stay in new york
Deletecommon sense buys into anything they hype up on sportscenter. felton actually averaged more points and assists when he was with new york than lin did last season. he was a product of the system had a few good games and is getting a redic contract hes definatly not worth. he may get better but will never carry a team. in that whole linsanity run what hes beat 2 maybe three playoff teams. big deal. knicks were smart not to match, and the only way he makes money for houston is if the rockets become contenders like he had the knicks believing last year, which is doubtful seeing how the rockets have no talent now. how's lin going to hold up and grind out a whole season in the nba when he doesn't want to play at 85 percent lol it'll never happen everyone is broken down by the end of season.
DeleteBunch of morrons again. You should be thankful im giving you free knowledge. I speak the truth and i speak common sense which you morrons dont have obviously. And dont worry i will keep giving free knowledge cuz idiots like yourselves needs it.
DeleteExactly!!!!!!! He already won the nyc fans over especially the #1 fan spike lee, now he goes to absolutely no options and have to try to win a city over who let him go in the first place. He would have still made more than he ever saw because he came out of the d-league.
ReplyDeleteOf course hes going to sign the biggest offer he can get, he only made 700k last year. You guys act like hes a nash or lbj who would take less money cause they have alrdy made 100 million. There is also no doubt the knicks should match, they need a pg, felton has never had a month like lin despite his years of opportunity. The price is high but your not just paying for lin, your paying for linsanity which brings in tons of money on its own.
ReplyDeleteIm sorry but thats rediculous. Im not hatin lin get ya money but he played himself. You know damn well he would rather stay n the n.y. Than go 2 the lost houston rockets. And fuck linsanity! Wat does that have 2 do wit winning and staying competitive when everybody else, even the world champs r getting better? i dont c lin being no more than a good role player or a six man on a GOOD team and even if he do improve n 2 years dont think knicks will b good enough 2 pay him 14.8 mill. If he able 2 play n playoffs we would know but he was only 85%? yea... ok .
DeleteRite thats what I been saying too..... 85%. Other players were playing hurt too.
DeleteCheck felton's stats again when he played for da knicks. He did well. Plus lin's production decreased when melo came back.
DeleteI don't think he will have all exposure or endorsements like nyc but we talk "he only made 700K" like that aint squat - there isn't too many people period making that, including doctors, lawyers even the P.O.T.U..S Obama - good for him to get paid (even though he's not worth it) I guess he'd be a fool if he didn't take it and he ain't no fool for he knew nyc wouldn't match that...CHA-CHING
DeleteLin is a step up from felton and has alot more potential than felton, especially with kidd there. And profits from "linsanity" will make up for the over payment of him.
DeleteMy bet is they will match, if it doesnt work out. They can always trade him.
who wants to bet the knicks are goin to match...
ReplyDeleteThat billionaire owner said dont count them out just yet, so it wouldn't be a shock to me if he did match it, cuz hes neva been bothered by the luxury tax b4 but he should be concerned by it, it mite help him make better decisions.
ReplyDeleteChris Paul. Yeah! !! Can't wait till he joins next year. See ya lin.
ReplyDeleteall you morons who think lin sales will make up for the huge contract clearly don't understand the concept of luxury tax lol new york would be of the cap the next three years resulting over 75 million in taxes alone, then the contract on top of that. so bassically your arguement is lin will bring in over 100 million in sales alone over the next three years lMAO!!! not even the air jordan brand will make that much sales in the next three years, and you think some lin jerseys and catchy tee shirts can make that happen?! lol give me a break
ReplyDeleteExactly. I agree dawg. Ny will get killed in luxury tax alone. I made the same comment earlie. If they paid any attention and were concerned about the tax they mite make better decisions.
DeleteLike i said best decision knicks made since they signed sprewell. Think about all the fluke ass players and coaches the knicks have wasted money on n the last 10 years. If they match that offer it will just b another dumb move by the knicks that they will regret.
DeleteSpeaking the truth ur facts r wrong tho. Its just the last year of the contract that wud put them over. That's y the rockets redid it. The first offer shit is the same except fir the last year. It went from 9 to 14. Either way paying 30mil for a pt guard who's name isn't Paul or wiliams is crazy
ReplyDeleteWho facts? I know its14.8 n tha 3rd year. 5 , 5, 14.8
Deleteok moron the facts are new york could only offer lin 5 million a year, before they signed camby kidd and felton, now any contract will but them over, although they have bird rights so it doesn't matter. they first two years at five million would not be that bad 1.5 x 5 2.5 x 5 thats around 13 million in taxes, what the knicks expected to pay, but the 14 x 3.5 is close to 50 million in taxes for the third year. that's why they r making a big deal about the third. but the only way all that is even possible is if they are over the cap 3 out 4 years in row.... which if they were not ( but of course they are) they only have to pay a small fraction of that.....
Delete5,5, 14.8....is that not wat he signed the houston offer sheet? Yes! Wat the fuck r u talkin bout? 2 many xtra smart asses
Deleteok preach, I was talking to yak ,yes he signed 5,5, 14. its not bad for houston but is was extremely bad for knicks bc of the new cba rules on luxary tax. as I explained knicks would have to pay close to 50 mill in taxes on that third year, that's why the knicks didn't resign him. this will all be explained on sportscenter on weds lol
DeleteChris Paul arrives next year. Yeah !
ReplyDeleteWasn't talking to u preach. But this other clown calling me a moron after saying the same shit I just said. Smh terrible. Yea its the last year of his contract that fucks it up I know. I said that. everything else was kosher. If the want they cud still sign him then trade him before that last year n it could solve that problem. The luxury tax isn't bad til the 2014-2015 season. Its gradually getting worse. But thx for the enlightenment.
ReplyDeleteyak you said they wouldn't be over the cap next year. yes they would have been, they are already over the cap, just the penatly isn't bad. that's what I was saying
ReplyDeleteI think 5mill is good for lin.. but 14 mill is crazy... knicks did right... but they should have been had lin sign...lol... lin was lookin like jordan for 2 1eeks... then the heat make him look like he need to geet me some duck sauce for my shrimp fried rice
