Mike D'Antonio had coached Amare's Stoudemire for most of his NBA career with the Suns and the Knicks so it's no surprise that Stoudemire was a little disappointed with the fact that D'Antoni decided to move on.
“He was frustrated that everyone wasn’t buying into the system......It made it look bad. I guess stepping down was the best way for him..... “He was raving about how great a man I’ve become and also as a player and professional......He was raving about me personally. He felt like we were in a good place and felt positive of the situation. He felt this week was the time to make a run for the playoffs and he didn’t want to do it in a week.’’
