Is calling Dwight Howard a loser smart?

Apparently Steve Rosenbloom of the Chicago Tribune doesn't care. I'm sure that Mr. Rosenbloom could have used a different choice of words, but I get it, he needed shock value to up his views, prove his "points". I do agree that playing for the defensive mind Bulls would be a great fit for Howard and would allow him to be paired with All-Star and league MVP Derrick Rose but again to call him out in such a disrespectful manner was wrong. Rosenbloom's quote below:
I have an issue with Dwight Howard. He sounds like an idiot. He sounds like a loser. But do you want the Howard who’s apparently too stupid to want to come to the Bulls? That’s the Howard we’re seeing now. The idiot Howard. If Howard doesn’t want to come to Chicago, do you really want him? Do you want someone that stupid? Point is, Howard says he wants to play in a bigger market, not on a better team. Like he’s too stupid to know the difference.
