Avery Johnson to Nets "just be a man"

Avery Johnson ripped into his Nets team before a recent practice and told them all to "just be a man" and stop blowing their defensive assignments.  The Nets are off to a 2-8 start and Johnson is doing everything that he can to avoid another losing season, especially with this being a shortened season.  Johnson stated:

“Defensively, we’ve got to do a better job of giving more resistance when guys are trying to get to their spots, basically giving more fight in certain situations,” he said. “Sometimes it’s mano against mano, and you can’t ask to get bailed out by an official. You’ve got to really just be a man, tough-minded.”
